they're great I'd have thought those temps should be better try properly mounting it first, just because it doesn't move doesn't mean it's got the best contact especially if two corners aren't being held down at all if not try the 212+, it couldn't hurt
I think I'll try the 212+ first then remount the Antec 620 after, seems like people are having issues mounting it on 1155 boards so if the 212+ does fine I'll use it for the 5200k and use the Antec 620 on my old Q6600 which I'm putting in another computer.
Hey guys, recently my laptop lit on fire so I'm going to buy a new computer today, something for our family. Considering my mom wants a touch screen but I want something for gaming we're getting the Acer AZ5101. It has a nice CPU, 4gb ram(8gb max) and unfortunately a GeForce 9200 hngggg, but my question is does a touch screen use a lot of ram or cpu? I'd appreciate it if anyone knew and could answer.
no the touchscreen won't take any extra CPU or RAM than any other input, but do not get it if you can, you have no way of upgrading the graphics card, I don't know how much it costs, but you'd be better off buying a prebuilt desktop and finding a decent touchscreen monitor.
why the hell does your mom want a touchscreen
It seems with this model I can switch out parts, or I hope :v:. But either way I really don't have a choice, seeing as my mom doesn't understand anything about computers or electronics for that matter.
These temps ok for overclocking? The i5 2500k is still at stock clocks. This is using an Antec KÜHLER H₂O 620 which claims to be LGA 1155 compatible which it is of you mess around with the mounting stuff enough. I do have a Cooler Master 212+ laying around that is also LAG 1155 compatible. Should I give that a shot and see what happens? [editline]1st August 2011[/editline] No idea what "package" is. [editline]1st August 2011[/editline] This is how it's mounted by the way. Fit fine and doesn't budge when I try to wiggle, seems pretty secure.
If you're going off that picture then you're mistaken, check the nvidia boxes and click analyse and that will tell you if you have nvidia driver files.
Oh, you're right. There's nothing listed. I feel incredibly silly now. Thanks!
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1111588-The-Finale-of-My-950-Build It's my first build and I've been trying to get it to boot. The only things I swapped out of this build was ram and used a EVGA 360, also a different HDD. So far I've been able to boot the thing up horizontally, I've seen it boot up the buttons on the case work and the lights and fans all start. I found the 24pin main connector a bit loose. EDIT: Looks like it is the 24pin, whenever I close it case it bumps it out of the socket. The PSU is also making a small but noticeable sound. But I think the sound is normal, it's that stinging/ ringing sound the kind that you hear in movies when a bomb shell lands close to a person. You know were everything is slow motion. EDIT: Actually the sound is like a tea kettle blowing out steam.
I have a Radeon 4870 1GB gpu and recently i've been seeing little blue dots scattered around the screen, happens while i am gaming or not ( i see them while browsing fp etc.), what may be the issue and what should i do ?

If the card came with tools check and see if there is anything that might help. Apart from that, check your warranty and be ready for a trip to the UPS.

Buy a can of air and blow out the dust from the heatsink of the video card (might as well do the rest of your PC, too, while you're at it).
I did exactly like you said but nothing has changed, and what is more interesting is that, those artifacts dont seem to appear on high temperatures, like after gaming for hours, but i see lots of dots (artifacts?) while normally running it, doing nothing and looking at desktop etc. I actually suspected static electricty, as my speakers sometimes make a bzzzt-like sound and clears when i touch its plug, maybe its related, and what should i do if its static thing ? edit: one more thing i found, i seem unable to capture those little dots in a screenshot, they simply dont exist in ss
Once again, monitor? Or the back connection?
That's a bit too hot isn't?

Yeah. When installing the 212+ earlier today I gave everything a good dusting.
Yeah. When installing the 212+ earlier today I gave everything a good dusting.
Well my 480 Idles around there, but that is good old fermi for you Other wise I think you will be fine
63 is perfectly okay for idle temp on a graphics card
I meant more of the max temp, it's hovers in the 80s when under load while I've seen the 70s be normal for the load temp.
I meant more of the max temp, it's hovers in the 80s when under load while I've seen the 70s be normal for the load temp.
80's under load is perfectly fine
Alright. Wasn't sure, just seemed a little high to me. Also, overclocked to 4.5ghz and was wondering if these temps are ok I'm just worried over temps since my room is the hottest one in the house and I'm never sure of what's good or what's bad.
So, suddenly Norton is back on the computer that I removed it from. Oh boy. Adventures with Norton. I've asked around the house, and nobody is saying they re-installed it. This might be a little bit paranoid, but I think it's either a trojan and is blocking the internet, or Norton somehow magically re-installed itself and is blocking the internet. Has anyone ever heard anything like this?
How come when I use PrintScreen to take a screenshot of something like RealPlayer or VLC it's just a black area? How can I record what is being played?
How come when I use PrintScreen to take a screenshot of something like RealPlayer or VLC it's just a black area? How can I record what is being played?
It's probably due to hardware acceleration. Either way, VLC has a snapshot option built-in somewhere.
It's probably due to hardware acceleration. Either way, VLC has a snapshot option built-in somewhere.
Can you please explain more about this hardware acceleration? This is very annoying and affects more programs than just VLC.
