Yeah it was all 'web 2.0' looking. Now it looks like Windows XP

Thanks, but I thought I could run this without an internet connection, obviously not
Lately something has been hogging up 50% (2 gigs) of my memory at almost any time, yet it won't show up in the task manager. I've scanned for malicious software etc., but nothing out of the ordinary has shown up. I have absolutely no idea what it could be.

Did you show processes for all users?
I recently updated my AMD catalyst control center to 11.5 and ever since I've had random freezes for all open windows for up to 30 seconds, anybody know how to rollback to a previous version or if the problem lies elsewhere?
Anybody? really annoying problem.

All you have to do is install the old version, you should still have them in your C:/AMD (possibly C:/ ATI) folder
Does anyone have any idea why every DBus program in existence spams "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" at me for a good five minutes before finally giving up and going without?
I'm about to take the Windows approach and just clear it out and start over. But I don't want to do that, especially since I know there's a less drastic way. I've tried reinstalling DBus, that didn't work.
"Oops! You can't see pages on this website."
It says something about parental controls, and prevents me from going to some parts of Facepunch. The thing is, my parents didn't do anything with the security-- besides they wouldn't even know how. Any ideas?

I've got an MSI 5770, which is a pain in the ass because it has Displayport, HDMI and DVI outputs. I don't have another monitor with Displayport/HDMI meaning I can't plug in another monitor.
What should I do? This probably sounds dumb, but can I run my second monitor off an old GPU or Integrated graphics, or should I just get a DVI to 2xDVI splitter?
Any good programs to end all of my unnecessary processes? I have 105 running and it's slowing my system down.

What the actual fuck, it fixed itself.
So my 4 Year old Desktop is blue-screening whenever I log-in due to hardware problems.
Are there any things I should replace specifically or would I just be better off getting a new one?
Oh, and is it safe to salvage RAM from a Bluescreening computer onto a new one?

If you know what hardware is malfunctioning you can just replace that bit.

Well now it's asking me to sign on as "Other Account" (Which I don't have a username and password for) , I don't think I'll ever find out.

Sounds like you might just have to make an Ubuntu Live CD, backup your files and reinstall Windows. If you've been on the same install for 4 years then it's probably the bloatedness that's causing the bluescreens.
[editline]28th May 2011[/editline]
it should also be fine to salvage the RAM, unless it's faulty and it's that that is in fact causing the errors

Username: Whatever your account name was when you first created it
Password: That account's password

I don't have a windows install disc, it came with the computer. I might as well get a new one with Windows 7
Every few minutes all of my open windows will freeze (note windows, not computer) for up to 30-45ish seconds. I'm unsure of what's causing this considering it's only been happening the last week or so. I had thought it was the Catalyst Control Center for my HD4850 (as I had recently updated that), but I just uninstalled it and am still experiencing this problem. Anybody have any idea as to what could be causing this?

Can I use one of these to plug into the HDMI port on my graphics card, then into the back of my secondary monitor? This is instead of having a DVI to 2x DVI splitter.
I just got the manual eject pinhole on my laptop's CD Drive jammed with a piece of graphite. What do I do now?

Take the drive out and tap the edge of it on a table or something
or you could try jamming a paperclip in
