Does overclocking break warranty, and if so, when is the best period to start overclocking after having bought the processor/videocard?
On a lot of pre-built computers it does IIRC.
On pre-builts they usually lock the BIOS to stop you from overclocking, but a lot of pre-builts bought for games and whatnot (alienware/falconnorthwest/ibuypower) I don't think you void the warranty by overclocking but rather, if you break components via overclocking it isn't covered in the warranty. Atleast, that's how it was for my friend who bought a Falcon Northwest desktop. Honestly you should contact them yourself to make sure, it's not worth the risk before checking.
Either way they shouldn't be able to see that you overclocked.
The wireless router I have right now is frequently dropping on me (Netgear WGT624) and I need a new one but I know nothing about networking or routers. Any recommendations?

is it possible to gut a WD MyBook and use the case as a super tiny computer case I mean like using integrated graphics, a SSD and an atom processor, not like super powered shit or is it just too small
is it possible to gut a WD MyBook and use the case as a super tiny computer case I mean like using integrated graphics, a SSD and an atom processor, not like super powered shit or is it just too small
You can get an ITX motherboard like this tiny bugger: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/zotac-ion-synergy-nvidia-ion-intel-atom-n330-cpu-16ghz-ddr2-800-sata-3gb-s-sata-raid-mini-itx that comes with Nvidia Ion/Atom, measure up your mybook and have a look, personally you'd be better off just getting a mini-itx case seeing as I doubt you'd fit even an mATX power supply in it depending on the width, plus you'd have to ghetto rig the components or drill holes even if it does fit. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/colors-it-mtx002b-black-mini-itx-case-with-300w-psu looks promising, pleasing to the eye and bundled with a PSU.
meh, I was just wondering because I thought it'd be a fun project to do in case it ever dies on me, it wouldn't be completely useless Thanks for the info
If your Mybook is wide enough to support a mATX power supply and you're willing to put in the effort of drilling and some ventilation areas then wiring a power button it would be a nice project Or you can just spend £30 and have it much easier, I built an ITX computer for my sister to fit onto her living room TV (i3 2100/5770) for light games and it was a very fun project, tiny too.
I am trying to boot into my installation disc for windows xp but I cannot chamge the boot order, for some reason it seems like HDD is before the CD drive. I spam F8 when it boots and I get a bunch of options Dell Dimension 8300 EDIT: Spammed f2, got it.
Anyone know of a good QR code reader for the PC and not a mobile phone app?
Ok, I installed a new version of Windows XP, but I cannot connect to the internet, I believe it is a driver issue, so I popped in the disc for drivers and installed a bunch of network drivers, but to no avail.

It's cheaper and has the better chipset.
I want to say the Gigabyte. It's cheaper and has the better chipset.
That is what I was also thinking the only reason I wouldn't go with the gigabyte is because I have never really liked their BIOS, but I can deal with it [editline] August 15th 2011[/editline] Also Seasonic or Corsair? Also is DDR3 1600 worth it over DDR3 1333?
I have been think of upgrading and this is what I was planning on going with. I am planning on keeping my 480 and my current RAM, and are there any better Motherboards for the price? I would be selling my current computer to cover the costs
So I am planning on not upgrading for a long time, is it worth it to go with the 2600k over the 2500k I plan on Overclocking quite a bit. [editline] August 15th 2011 [/editline] Shit, where is the auto-merge
How do I judge what kind of PSU I need for a PC? Like what each component needs so I don't buy one with excessive output. I'm clueless on how to tell.
I got a Dell D610 today for $50 from a friend. It's pretty much in pristine condition. I've been interested in breaking away from console gaming for a while and would like to know if this system would be good enough for some gaming, If i bought a new graphics card of course. Here is a screenshot of my Speccy:
nope
How do I judge what kind of PSU I need for a PC? Like what each component needs so I don't buy one with excessive output. Okay, this is starting to really piss me off. Is there any way I can edit my ports without having to connect to 192.168.1.1? I'm tired of having to wait minutes just for the god-damn page to load. After 75 seconds (I timed it with a fucking stopwatch), this is all that has loaded so far for my damn router page: I wish I could say it's a one-off thing, but no, it's always this fucking slow.

Edit: I tested my old 4850 and it works fine. Now I'm sure it's just the new GPU.
I need a good program to delete some corrupted files that windows wont let me delete. Do any of you guys know a good one that you have used? I don't feel so safe downloading a program from some dodgy website and probably not have it even work.

quick question (or maybe not, all depends..) is it worth looking into quad core cpu's with up coming games like skyrim and battlefield 3 and all that jazz or are dual core still capable for those type of games? thinking mostly intel's i3's and i5's i mean yeah, we would all love to have the godlike PC's that can run... 24 applications of crysis at the same time (at max settings naturally. ) but i'm still looking at mid range specs, withen the 500 - 900 range your guys thoughts?
What's the easiest way to increase the polling rate on my MX518 on Windows 7 64bit
