I would recommend running Memtest

Will do.
Would it be safe to put Windows 7, Battlefield 3, and a few apps on a 60GB SSD?

Yes, I have done that with a 32GB SSD
Only had 2GB left when I was done but it still ran just as fast as it ever would.
Gonna let my PC run Memtest all night and see what it brings up when I wake up. Hopefully no errors. Since almost everything in it is about 8-9 months old, except the harddrive and PSU that's a a little over a year old.
Also, might the problem be that I run a 6950 (unclocked) with a 500W PSU? If so, then I'm fucked since I don't have enough money to get a new one. But since these crashes can happen at almost any time, everything from playing games to just looking at youtube videos, I don't think that's the problem. But since I'm unsure I'm open for suggestions.
Isn't 400 watts overkill?
there aren't really any cheaper PSUs I'd actually use, anything cheaper than that is usually a complete bomb
the power output might be more than necessary but the quality isn't
plus low load means it will last longer and produce less heat
Connect my xbox to a monitor that only supports dvi and vga while still getting sound.
Either simply get the VGA kit or get a DVI-HDMI cable and modify your current connection to fit with the HDMI in.
This shows you how to split it open so it'll fit:

then you'll use the RCA red / white sound cables for audio, there are multiple ways to do it. The best way, if you're by your PC, would probably be just to get a RCA female to 3.5mm jack and plug it into your line-in and listen to the line-in on the PC. Make sure you have this ability beforehand. You could also get a amp or use any receiver, or simply plug it into your speakers, if you have them. I wouldn't recommend directly connecting it to your headphones, though.

i'd say get http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.710340 it's a good value and the case is probably better for use as a media center since it lays flat.
What would be the best graphics card for setting up an old school ATi Truform rig? I've read around on Wikipedia and through a few articles, and it's quite confusing as to which cards support it and which cards don't.
Repost. Anyone here know anything about Truform-supporting graphics cards?
Another issue aside from that Windows throws out of memory errors with lots of memory left, chrome uses over 400 MB of RAM with 1 tab open, which is starting to piss me off

Stop watching porn.
So, Memtest have soon done 10 passes and still no errors, should I let it run longer and see?

Nothing. That's kinda the problem.
What is Svchost.exe and why is there like 10 of them running? I googled but they only display the problem, no solution.
And why is it taking up so much memory? I've got 4gb DDR2 memory and one svchost.exe is using up 382 232k memory in task manager, I tried ending the process but after around 5 minutes it starts up again and goes up in memory until its back up to 300 000k +

Those are system processes and do things like services.
Rightclick and choose Go to Services.

It is never really a good idea to randomly kill processes (or remove files for that matter), especially if you don't know what it is.

What can happen other than your system crashing?
Can I be sure that it's not my RAM that makes my computer randomly freeze when Memtest86+ have done 17 passes without any errors?
I would say it's safe to assume the RAM is fine at 17 passes.

It starts with the time that it either hang or the time that I hard rebooted it.

That is the exact same error that I had and I solved it by replacing my faulty RAM

It's a generic error, I got that error when my HDD crashed.

The Kernel Power error itself is generic
you have to look at the keywords
<Keywords>0x8000000000000002</Keywords>

Ah, didn't know that.
I'm on 1920 x 1080 resolution with a 60hz refresh rate, is it worth having VSync on?
I looked it up on google and got mixed results, and I'm not really sure the benefit of it...
I'm have an i5 2500k and a GTX 560 Ti if that matters.

In my personal opinion its not worth it at all
But I guess if you wanted the constant 30 or 60 FPS lock go for it.

yes, vsync removes screen tearing, sometimes impacting performance
VSync absolutely destroys performance. You should only use it if you consistently experience framerates higher than your refresh rate or you just can't stand the tearing.
I don't really notice any tearing in games, so I guess I should leave it off then.
Then again, I never looked for it so maybe now I may notice it...
