What would be some good fans to stick onto a Cooler MAster Hyper 212+? Stock fan isn't doing much.

How loud is a "tad" loud? Right now my computer is dead silent when not playing games and barely audible when playing them.

it was a joke, those are incredibly loud, like a vacuum
tbh you're not going to see much of a difference with another fan, you probably need to lap the heatsink or something if you're getting bad performance from it.

I realized it was once I saw the dBA. And lap the heatsink with what? I just put some new thermal paste on it if that's what you mean.

internet also goes out at random, what the fuck
[editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
ip release/renew doesn't fix it
disabling/enabling network device doesn't fix it
restarting computer doesn't fix it
restarting router doesn't fix it
why is this happening
[editline]21st August 2011[/editline]
did a release/renew and it slowly crawls up to those values after about 30 seconds from my normal 40-50
router is a linksys WRT350N
Well I have $50 in rebates coming from a few items, and was wanting to put the money back into my PC. What would be a good investment for soemthing in a PC with these specs?

Right now I only have an extra case fan, and only the Intel CPU cooler that came with it.
Would a better heatsink/fan be a good idea, or is there something else worth getting?
Heatsink or SSD.
Good heatsink ~$50 is Akasa Venom.

Can't find it stocked on newegg or amazon. Where would it be sold?
I say just get a 212+ and use the rest for case fans

Might be EU or UK only, actually.

The only space I have for another case fan would be the top radiator, but the 212+ will probably be a possibility.

Is it completely impossible to overclock an i5 2400 (rather than a 2500K) even if you have a p67 motherboard?

I've been trying to overclock my i5-2500k to 4.5 Ghz, and it's just not working.
MSI P67a-G43
Using auto-voltage works fine at 4 Ghz, completely stable. Turning it up to 4.5 Ghz, however, quickly causes a BSOD. I tried setting the voltage up to 1.33V, and it still BSODs.
What voltage is suggested? I really want to overclock this thing more, but I can't seem to get it.
Okay, I'm going to college this week and I want to know if theres any decent gaming laptops for less than $900?
1.33V is about right for a 4.2Ghz overclock on my i7.
I would guess around 1.5V
Speaking of overclocking, does an extra, say, 1GHz per core on a quad core processor make a noticeable difference in things like video editing?
Most definitely.
Well, rendering atleast. Maybe not just using the program.

Great, thanks :)
I'll try and keep this short: basically when I turned my PC on today the POST screen came up like usual but it took an extra 10-15 seconds to show the list of drives, and the SSD I have windows on didn't appear in the list. Then I got a nice message telling me that windows couldn't load because 'a required drive is inaccessible'.
Basically I am wondering a few things:
1. What could cause it to 'die' when it worked fine yesterday?
2. Is there anything I can do to check if it isn't actually dead? (although I have already checked the power connector and the sata cable in case they had came loose)
3. If it is dead is there any way I can install windows on my other hard drive without losing everything on it? It's typical that the external hard drive I bought arrived a few days ago and I haven't been able to back up my stuff on to it yet...
Would it be very far fetched to overclock my Sapphire HD6850 to the level of a stock HD6870?
I have a XFX Pro 450w, I have 1 HDD, 1 Cardreader and a Phenom II 955 X4 (if it matters).
My case has 2 case fans, 1x200mm fan in the front and 1x120mm fan in the back

If your CPU isn't overclocked, or atleast, overclocked much, it's should be no problem. I'm running a 6950 on an Enermax 425W.
Why do I have to buy a decent PSU? Why get a 'decent' 500W for 40 quid when I can get a cheap 750W for 20 quid?
