No doubt I'll be waiting for Kepler, as cool as this is.
God damn it, nvidia has gone through 3 series' of cards, while i sit here and twiddle my thumbs with a core 2 duo and a gts 250. Don't forget to mention my Mobo is socket 775, DDR2 RAM with only 2 slots, and only one PCIe slot. And upgrading won't happen until at least 2012

I found the only way to really stay current with this shit is to sell your hardware before it becomes old, then shove in an extra $100 or so and buy the latest. I remember doing some rough calculation on it with graphics cards and in the long haul I believe it's more cost effective if you upgrade about once a year and add about $100 to the money you get for selling your old graphics card, as oposed to waiting untill it's run its course (2 years ish) and spend $300 on a new. Your mileage may/will probably vary but it's worked fine for me so far.
I'm still stuck on my NVIDIA 8600 :smith:

5 days before my birthday :3
Release right on my birthday, shit. Well I don't need another card, I'm not going to upgrade during 2011 unless something really cheap comes up for a noticeable performance boost (not just in GPUS) I'm still looking very much forward to seeing benchmarks and reviews of this giant though, I think it's going to be awesome!

Well maybe because I have an overclocked Phenom II.
Imagine if it is cheaper than 580 SLi, minds would be blown.
I'd love to see a fanless cooler for a 590. Would probably be the size of my desk.
Imagine if it is cheaper than 580 SLi, minds would be blown.
I'm quite sure that will be the case
oh shit no 2 competing cards coming out at similar times, however will we cope
By masturbating furiously.
Imagine if it is cheaper than 580 SLi, minds would be blown.
Of course it will be.
the dual GPU card EVGA was showing off not long ago was not a 590, but a double 460 http://www.evga.com/articles/00613/
That looks awesome.
2WIN 2WIN 2WIN They just shove it in there whenever they can.
My GTS 250 is still powerful.
Yes, because having an overclocked CPU increases the speed of your GPU :downs: [editline]11th March 2011[/editline] Crytek you disgust me :colbert:
Oh my lord they have sold out. The bastards.
i'm certain it's more of a response to leak and preparation of piracy, as it most likely was with Dragon Age 2. steal the game, don't get all of the bells and whistles. receive bells and whistles later in a patch, if you bought it, a day later if you didn't. [editline]11th March 2011[/editline]
My GTS 250 is still powerful. Well maybe because I have an overclocked Phenom II.
or because you have amusingly low standards
I'm still stuck on my NVIDIA 8600 :smith:
geforce 7950 GX2 still here, and a dead mobo, so a 7150M on this laptop :(
geforce 7950 GX2 still here, and a dead mobo, so a 7150M on this laptop :(
Huh, I should get a hold of one of those for collection purposes.
[editline]11th March 2011[/editline] or because you have amusingly low standards
Well I am at 1366x768. But yes Marnetmar is correct, a GTS 250 is sufficient for gaming. [editline]11th March 2011[/editline]
Yes, because having an overclocked CPU increases the speed of your GPU :downs:
You know what I mean
geforce 7950 GX2 still here, and a dead mobo, so a 7150M on this laptop :(
Badass card. Any GX2 card is a badass card. [editline]11th March 2011[/editline] The later dual-GPU's from both AMD and nVidia just don't have the same feel. I mean GTX 295, so what? It's another number. 9800 GX2, however, just sounds badass. Like when you get one there's a rock band playing and fighter jets doing barrel rolls overhead and hot chicks on Harley Davidsons jumping through flaming hoops and stuff and I think I ate too much chocolate :pcgaming:
For the average home user a GTS 250 is still pretty damn good.
yeah we're not talking about "average home user" here, though, are we?
Radeon 4350 represent! :suicide:
Radeon 3850HD representing better :suicide: [This year it's going into the trash.]
We need Gx4 cards.
Hmm, perhaps it is time to upgrade. SLI 8800's have gotten me much further than I'd expected, but they are starting to show their age. I'll keep one of them though. Nvidia allows you to use a second, non-matched, video card to handle physics. Awesome feature.
Oh god every week they dick it out.
