Nvidia's own show off (: Damn
Maybe... If i sold a kindey... I could... Hmmm...
Hm, surprisingly few retailers have this up for sale. I would've thought they'd be more on the ball.

Here's a nice review: http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-590-review/ 350W TDP...I expected that card to eat a bit more. Also it's pretty silent. Anyways i'd better wait till the prices drop a bit, and the OC versions start to come out.
Burn, baby burn! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRo-1VFMcbc
is it just me or does anyone find it sort of stupid that you can just buy one of these, get some aftermarket cooling, overclock and have yourself GTX 580 SLI for around ~$800 or so?

I wonder what kind of waterblock you could use on this.
Burn, baby burn! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRo-1VFMcbc
I feel so bad for that poor card :saddowns:
not only that but apparently they're cherrypicked 580s so they should overclock well too I'd be interested to see what aftermarket cooling would be better than the vapour chambers
I just assumed overclocking these to default 580 clocks and beyond would result in overheating
I don't think they overheat but the fan is a lot louder, I think it's still quieter than the 6990 though can't remember if I saw anyone taking them past default 580 clocks
I wonder what kind of waterblock you could use on this.
http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?pn=03G-P3-1599-AR Yea.
From the looks of it i rather pick the 6990 same performance less money, more pizza in my stomach.
From the looks of it i rather pick the 6990 same performance less money, more pizza in my stomach.
They actually bounce back and forth. I'd pick the 590 for cooler temps and less power draw. Also, 6990 and 590 are relatively priced even, differing from the brands.
590's also great for CUDA applications, let's not forget about that. [editline]24th March 2011[/editline]
http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?pn=03G-P3-1599-AR Yea.
That price :ohdear:
Australian prices: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=193_1203 A single GTX 590 is $100 short of the cost of my entire i7-2600K rig :downs:
From the looks of it i rather pick the 6990 same performance less money, more pizza in my stomach.
590 costs less
my 8800 GT 640 MB just died on me :(
They actually bounce back and forth. I'd pick the 590 for cooler temps and less power draw. Also, 6990 and 590 are relatively priced even, differing from the brands.
I thought 6990 took less power.
590 costs less
Really? I need to check prices first then
I thought 6990 took less power. Really? I need to check prices first then
590 costs less, uses less power, makes less noise, emits less heat and performs better in some games, worse in others
590 costs the same, uses more power, makes less noise, emits more heat and performs better in TWIMTBP games, worse in all others
Fixed. Cost is the same pretty much. Power wise? Less also. Did I mention it exhausts the majority of the air into your case? Think of your poor hard drives. Or actually cook a steak maybe?
That is pretty substantial.
Odellus is not the sort of person who listens to reason. I recommend you try not to argue with him for too long.
Cheapest 6990: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-033-HS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1752 (£515) Cheapest GTX 590: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-122-MS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1966 (£599) That is pretty substantial.
Then again, that's not in the US. So it much more close here than there.
UK prices usually start higher then drop over a short while [editline]25th March 2011[/editline] e.g the 460 was £160+ and over a few weeks dropped to 140 then 130
