This is kind of a "Sisters laptop=shit bucket" boss fight. Along with her horrible malware that is now gone (hopefully). Her laptop is always at 0 to 1% life, and it won't get any higher, originally we thought it was her dogs fault because the damn monster chewed the charger and thats when the problem started happening, now she got a brand new charger thats compatible, and it still wont charge up, I began the think this was just a bad battery but I thought it was too coincidental that the dog chews a perfectly good charger with a laptop always at 100%, and than the battery shits out when we get a new one. Is it possible that this is a hardware problem? Is it possible that the crapton of malware could have messed up a setting?
Specs are vista 32 bit, 1.9 dual core processor, 2gb ram, not sure what else. It's a Dell Inspiron.
When I plug it in the yellow battery light flashes which means it's charging. I think. Not sure, I don't really mess around with laptops.
try to find a way to recalibrate the battery, also depending on what type it is, discharging it completely and letting it charge overnight without it being on might help.
How long does it actually last if you take it off the charger
How old is it? Batteries can crap out.
