I use the saitek eclipse 3 and that is awesome. To be honest, the saitek is much better, so much cheaper as well, + it has cool backlight with changable colours!
how would you know if it's better, you bought a saitek, not a G15
shut up really, i hate one sided arguments
would be really cool to have steam on the keyboard... Launch games, see chatlog even when ur fighting a tank on expert, think about it.
I go to the bathroom while my team fights the tank usually...
would be really cool to have steam on the keyboard... Launch games, see chatlog even when ur fighting a tank on expert, think about it.
why would you be looking at that when you are fighting a tank
I like the old one so much more, I wish they still made it. The blue one >>>> the orange.
Ebay :eng101:
would be really cool to have steam on the keyboard... Launch games, see chatlog even when ur fighting a tank on expert, think about it.
why would you need to use the game panel to launch games?
"i have all these windows up but i don't want to close them to launch the game fffuuuuuck ok well i don't care if the game runs like shit i'm not even minimizing these windows hell yeah"
or even worse
"you know what i feel like playing more than one game at once thanks G15"
the screen in mine is really useless
the screen in mine is really useless
Then find a use for it? There's plenty of plugins out there.
Also FORE WARNING to ownsers of MSI/ASUS motherboards: Atleast with the old G15 (and to my knowledge the new G15 is still the same), many models of these motherboards do not read the G15 correctly and see the thing as a "USB Hub" on start up instead of a USB Keyboard, which in effect will make the keyboard itself not work at all.
I have this issue, it's a pain in the ass. Some days it'll work great (I MUST do a cold boot though in order to even have a chance), other days my motherboard will not detect it as having a keyboard.
So just letting you know beforehand. You'll want to have a PS/2 keyboard attached to your PC at all times if that happens to you, just incase you cold-boot it on one day and it decides to not detect your keyboard (the only way it even works at all is if my computer is in a cold boot state for more than 5 hours, otherwise it won't work at all).
I've looked it up online, and there's virtually no fix for this. If you have an MSI/ASUS motherboard there's a chance that the MoBo you have will not be "full compatable" with this usb-hub keyboard, and a problem with the BIOS will not be able to detect the keyboard itself (even if you have flashed your bios, which is risky to do in of itself).
It seems to be a problem that only happens after using it for a few times. I didn't have this issue when I first got my G15.
If you can, try to hunt down a revision 1 version of the keyboard. The blue lighting is easier on the eyes, the screen can fold down when you're not using it, and the extra programmable keys they took out from the 2nd revision are really useful if you're going to use the left-over six anyways.
Just my $0.02.
It works fine for me and I'm still using a 1st Gen (which I find to be superior to the 2nd Gen, by the way) and an Asus Rampage Formula series motherboard.
If you're gonna use the screen, then yeah.
I don't really find any use for it, so I'd go with the G11.
Nah, IMO it's pretty hideous looking and overpriced. I'll wait for this post to gather thousands of disagrees because everyone here jerks off over every Logitech product. (I have Lochitech speakers, they are nice. But their keyboards are beyond fugly.)

Completely agree. The things are absolutely hideous, as are most logitech gamer products. While the macros may be handy, I honestly don't see that much point in having them, you play just as well without them.
Yeah I can agree it has some handy features but they aren't a huge selling point when I buy a keyboard. My Sidewinder has a shitload of programmable keys and macro keys, and I haven't used it once.

Nobody looks down on the keyboard, unless you use the screen that is.
Fact is, the G1x series are perfect. The buttons have perfect sensitivity and responsiveness.
It looks like shit, but it's fucking incredible.
I love my g11 and my MX518 but if i had the extra cash i might have got a g15.. I think it looks nice but i also think the G11 looks nice. I'd say if you had the cash get the G15 unless you would buy somthing else with the money you would save if you got a cheaper one. I don't know if i would really ever use the screen so i went for a cheaper option

Rusty either owns...
1. Saitek
2. Sidewinder
3. Shitty 20 AUD keyboard
WTF? Keyboard with 320x240 screen? You could play like 3d games on it at small resolution xD

I already posted what I have. In this thread. What has that got to do with it? If I wanted a G15, I could afford it, don't flatter yourself (or a brand)

Oh, you own a sidewinder.
It has a lot to do with it.
I can't count the number of times a person with a Saitek, POS, Sidewinder has found out I had a G15 and went, ffs, why would you get one, it's overpriced, ugly, and useless.
find one from this list instead: http://www.keytronic.com/home/shop/shop.asp?h_ck=TQ928Z
That is what I have. I will never, ever go for anything else. No extra keys, no screens, no selling point beyond being an excellent keyboard. Life time guarantee etc etc.
I love my KeyTronic :v:

I didn't say useless. It's overpriced and ugly. Maybe you should start listening to them, they have a point.
I don't need the screen so I would go for the G11 but I got a G15 and it's still bomb. Only problem is that it adds about 20 seconds to my startup time which pisses me off like none other.
Yeah, my G15 recently broke and when I switched to another keyboard my startups are suddenly miles quicker. Odd and annoying.

Logitech's standard keyboards are very nice indeed. I'm currently using some ultra flat one, very nice looking and the keys are fantastic.
No. Go for G19.
G19 is the keyboard for gamers who don't have space for a second screen.
It's so awesome playing and watching a movie on the keyboard at the same time.

I've had both generations and the second generation feels superior and looks sleeker to me, the only advantage I could see for the first generation is more G keys but personally I don't ever touch them except to play with exploits such as ultra fast clicking.
In my opinion, you should get the G11, since you will never look at that little screen on the G15.
[editline]03:12PM[/editline]
You save money too.
My top favorite is the Logitech Wave, I'm using it right now after choosing it over the G15. It's an amazing keyboard.
Second hand G15's go really cheap but then you get cum stains and shit on it.
I just use the keyboard/mouse that comes with the computer. :buddy:
Rate me dumb for not being an "uber nerd".
I have a G15v2 but I have no use for the screen at this point. I don't suppose anyone can help me get some use out of it? (On the bright side, I love the orange lighting)
Yes!
