Logitech replaces G5 with Gaming Mouse G500, throws Gaming Headset G330 in for luck
I don't like that G500, or some of the home use logitech mice that throw in odd scroll wheels and a odd design but the MX518G5/G7 have a very rounded organic shape to them,

Why does Logitech make everything right-handed? :argh:
I hated the G5. Every time you dropped it, the weight cartridge (blue thing) went flying. I eventually lost it and had to phone order a new one, but they sent me the weight pack instead.
I also had precision problems with mine as well. Very jittery and was never able to draw straight lines with mine, even when toying with the DPI and polling rate.
I was annoyed, but the mouse eventually broke. Not sure what happened to it, but I got a G9 instead. I love this thing and they also covered the weight cartridge under the shell so it can't pop out.

Because most people are right handed? Idk lol. I sometimes use my G5 with my left hand and it's alright anyway.

I'm left handed, but I usually use my mouse in my right hand, but I can use it fine in the other.
Then again I guess I am slightly multidexterous.

I think that's because you aren't supposed to drop it.

Why do you drop your mouse? That's not standard operational practice for a computer mouse.

Lefties still exist. Why is it that the majority is right-handed, left minded, but I'm left-handed, right minded?

I weighted it even more with home-made weights.
Oh god I love this mouse so much.

better and cheaper
I have a G5 upstairs (Old red) and a G9 on my gaming machine. I have to say I prefer the G9 series to the G5 any day.
I still love my dirty, old, used Logitech MX518.
why is it any thread to do with a mouse or keyboard that costs more than a packet of crisps gets filled with comments about "I DON'T LEIK DIS AND TWO PENCE MICE ARE BETTA."
You don't want it? fuck off, we don't give a shit about how you think a mouse with two buttons is superior. You never even give any reasons as to why you think cheap shitty mice with no features at all are better. If you don't want to buy it, pass the thread instead of telling us you're too fucking cheap to buy something more than the bare minimum.

I also have

That looks horrible.
I hope my G5 never breaks so I have to get that...

is what I have. Pretty much the predecessor to the mx518/g5.

I have one of those, keep it with me at school. Yes I hate school crappy mice and mac mice that much.
I love my G5v2. You can never have too high a DPI. I use it at 2000 DPI, just keep it on low in-game sensitivity.
A better mouse won't make it that much smoother though unless you have a monitor that can do high refresh rates. I need to get one of the 120hz monitors eventually. I will miss my CRT, but its starting to tint green.
In-game sensitivity at 3 with 800 DPI is still a bit fast. I don't even understand how you could play with 2000 DPI, you must suck.

60Hz is fine with a laser mouse what are you talking about
2000dpi isn't hard to use my ingame sensitivity in Source is a 5. I turn it down to 3 when I play scout.
It takes me 3 inches to do a 360 on 5, 6 inches on 3. I don't suck, I got used to it. Its nice to only need to move your mouse 2 inches on your desktop to reach a corner.
What I meant about the screen is, if you have used an LCD and moved the mouse fast you see a few mouse cursors behind it, you see it much less, its more of a blurred trail behind it.

I don't see a few cursors behind it, there is no trail, it's just slightly blurred.
Hmm, maybe my LCD monitor just sucks or I move my mouse to fast?
I still love my CRT though, it may be big, it may be heavy, but its got nice colors, a good refresh rate, and has lasted me 3 years even though I got it used.
I have a G5, it's fucking godly. No mouse could be better other than having a forward button (I have one with only a back button)
It's like literal perfection.
my microsoft mouse has a forward and back button whats so special about that?

Bought that one after my old trust predator crumbled into pieces after extensive use - they raised the price of those mouses and for that quality mouse I didn't feel like buying them anymore.
My only dissapointment is the scrollwheel on the G5, which doesn't exactly work well. (Especially clicking with it)
For the rest it's a very good mouse, never had trouble with the laser, aims perfectly and all.

which model? I think all their mice are named predator
mx518 4 life
Yes, that is surely an awesome mouse.
Been using it since 07.

usin mine right now
cept the black paint is worn away where my index finger normally clicks :q:
I just found out that my current mouse is 800dpi, I've used it for over 6 years now.
I use my mouse in my left hand so I can't use any of these sweet fancy gaming mice properly, although I'd love to.
