• Logitech replaces G5 with Gaming Mouse G500, throws Gaming Headset G330 in for luck

My Habu supports 2000DPI and I think that's reaching the limit of my anodised aluminium mousemat. 5700DPI is going to be impossible to navigate on windows, and your going to need extremely low ingame sensitivity to play well.
I like it. So long as the it's not like the MX revolution and replaces the middle click with the scroll wheel mode changer, or like the G9 that has the mode change button on the bottom of the mouse. My G7 is still in excellent condition though, so I won't be replacing it soon. I just wish it had a forward thumb button.

I love how biased FP is when it comes to mice. I've used the G5, and G7... and I have to say I'm not a fan.

Mice can feel great to some and feel awful to others.

Fuck the G5, the G7 is where it's at. Wireless = win.
What I meant about the screen is, if you have used an LCD and moved the mouse fast you see a few mouse cursors behind it, you see it much less, its more of a blurred trail behind it.
That's called ghosting. It means your monitor sucks ass.

Turns out it's just a G5 with an extension to a feature I hardly ever use and an incredibly ugly finish. Phew. [editline]01:16AM[/editline]
Fuck the G5, the G7 is where it's at. Wireless = win.
Wireless = Mouse lag and the chance of having flat batteries with no charged replacements.
Fuck the G5, the G7 is where it's at. Wireless = win.
Come tell me that when your frantically changing batteries while being killed in CS:S. [editline]05:18PM[/editline] Ninja'd :ninja:

Just be smart and change it when it hits 5% and has the warning light, instead of when it dies. It literally takes me about 8 seconds to change batteries and be playing again. [editline]11:22PM[/editline]
:smug: [editline]01:16AM[/editline] Shitty Wireless = Mouse lag
The mouse lag I have from using this wireless mouse, if there is any (which there is always SOME lag/delay from any input device, even if fractions of milliseconds) is unnoticeable.

I have never had a problem in 2-3 years with having both of my G7 batteries being flat, changing batteries or have I had any problems with lag. My brother had problems with his MX Revolution not responding sometimes, but that's because the wireless USB plug was connected to the back of his computer and had a monitor 'n' shit in front of it. A USB extension cable solved that. Sometimes I wonder if people just think the G7 is like any other cheap, shit wireless mouse.
I just don't like my mouse wired. The wire creates drag against the desk, and can interfere with your aiming, especially if there's anything in front of your mouse on the desk, plus it just feels weird to me having that little tiny bit of resistance. Also, I can go pretty far away from the PC, without having wires in the way; very good for when I hook up my PC to my TV and have the mouse/wireless keyboard in the recliner.
It's time for me to get a new one. Can't handle the primary mouse button bugging out on me and the gray skin peeling off :/ It was a good run for the 3 years I had it.
I didn't like the G5 as much as the MX series, and I'm really enjoying my MX620.
Now just what the HELL is that thing below the scroll wheel?
Now just what the HELL is that thing below the scroll wheel?
I bet it's a sensitivity slider. If so I think I'll get one of these when my G5 bites the dust.
I bet it's a sensitivity slider. If so I think I'll get one of these when my G5 bites the dust.
I thought those things on the the right to the scroll wheel change the sensitivity, which their + and - buttons clearly seem to state.
Trackwheel bitches. I've been happy with this babe for a couple of years.
Wireless = Mouse lag and the chance of having flat batteries with no charged replacements.
Calling bullshit, I've been using wireless mice for years, never had any of the problems I've been hearing about them. Battery change is less than 1 every two months, and if you're cheap a mouse can run on one battery despite having 2 slots. Also, not a bit of lag, this isn't ten years ago.
I thought those things on the the right to the scroll wheel change the sensitivity, which their + and - buttons clearly seem to state.
Now that you mention it that's probably the intention, although it would be great to have a slider for that :sigh:
Fuck the G5, the G7 is where it's at. Wireless = win.
But the G7 only has one side button. I used to have one and the wireless receiver thing broke so it'd constantly turn off and on.
I don't like that G500, or some of the home use logitech mice that throw in odd scroll wheels and a odd design but the MX518G5/G7 have a very rounded organic shape to them,
I would buy if it had a damn forward button.

Third time I'm posting this today: The Kone, bitch. It may have fewer mousebuttons, but I like the overall design better, and the fact that you can only get it in Europe ;)
Fuck the G5, the G7 is where it's at. Wireless = win.
Disagrees = jealous :smug:
Whats the point in gaming mice? What can it do differently than the 20 dollar mouse Ive been using for 2 years?
Whats the point in gaming mice? What can it do differently than the 20 dollar mouse Ive been using for 2 years?
More buttons + control + better looks + better feel = bigger e-penis.
Whats the point in gaming mice? What can it do differently than the 20 dollar mouse Ive been using for 2 years?
It is more precise and smooth in the handling generally. Can be the difference between a hit and a miss.
