spending money 'just cause' is a waste, don't you think? I'd rather not spend it, $1500 budget doesn't mean you have to spend all $1500
OP, I personally recommend.. It comes to $1,499.99 USD which fits nice and snug into your budget. Those Bloomfields are on the i7 arch I believe. With this your PC should run really, really fucking fast.
Just get an i5 2500k and a GTX570 and 8GB of RAM.
workstation motherboard and $620 cpu.... are you crazy!? haha Wait, why did you get 2 cpus
Why a Xeon? Those are for servers. They can't run games as well as a 2500k.
You're dumb. [editline]1st January 2012[/editline] Okay you guys suck at making builds. If you guys are all going to pick components below his budget to give him less performance then he can achieve with it I'll do the same.
go for a 2500k jeez in any case 1366 is dead anyway
Cooler master uses cheap fans, I've had to RMA this PSU twice because of them. [editline]1st January 2012[/editline] Okay you guys suck at making builds. Add a SSD and it will be better than the workstation what you made, atleast for games. Seriously, using all of that money for a computer would be dumb. And games and most programs WILL NOT USE ALL THE POWER IT WOULD HAVE! And it would not be optimized for games, at all.
go for a 2500k jeez in any case 1366 is dead anyway
My buddy has the above rig, it actually works really fucking nice in BF3. 100+ FPS solid at Ultra.
1366 is outdated, and 600+ for a CPU? he may as well get one of the the LGA 2011 i7s
My buddy has the above rig, it actually works really fucking nice in BF3. 100+ FPS solid at Ultra.
There's a reason why people don't get workstation computers as home computers
There's a reason why people don't get workstation computers as home computers
Go on? Everything I put into that rig is compatible and will run games very well.
until 2012 can provide some figures that proves that xeons are worth the extra money it I'm going to stand by the 2500K because I have a 2500K/570/4GB build and I can also say that it's running games very well
You're hilariously stupid.
Great content and contribution to the thread. also rig v2 Under his budget and it will perform well while being reliable, put heavy read tasks onto the SSD such as games.
why two 6870s, and why 16GB RAM if you ask me, a single-GPU, but multi-GPU ready build is what OP should go for
why two 6870s, and why 16GB RAM if you ask me, a single-GPU, but multi-GPU ready build is what OP should go for
Why, he clearly has the money and its underbudget. He clearly wants a amazing rig and there it is.
well then keep it under budget what's wrong with that
well then keep it under budget what's wrong with that
What?
The very first post I made will perform the same as the last build posted Because he's not even on 1680x1050... don't know what res he is running but it's lower than that
The very first post I made will perform the same as the last build posted Because he's not even on 1680x1050... don't know what res he is running but it's lower than that
Well then lets fucking upgrade him, if you're going to spend money on a nice rig you need a nice Samsung display. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001487 1920 x 1080 VGA x1 DVI-D x1
I plan to multitask a lot so I prefer 12 gigs. Also my Monitor is a 1920x1080. As for the motherboard I chose, I might end up doing SLI later on.
there's no way you're going to get 12GB working in dual-channel it's going to be either 4, 8, or 16 with dual-channel, and I suggest getting 8GB to start, and if you really feel like you need more, then by all means buy more, but I really don't suggest you get more than 8GB of RAM to start, because it's the cheapest/easiest to upgrade if you need more, but if you buy too much then it's simply wasted money
I saw a build in the last page that looked really good and was around my price range so I thought I would try making one like it. I think I finally made my mind up on what I want but I was just wondering if you guys could double check if everything is compatible and if the hardware I choose are the best choices.
My buddy has the above rig, it actually works really fucking nice in BF3. 100+ FPS solid at Ultra.
Now take out one of the CPU-s and y ou will see that the FPS is same because the other one is not boosting anything. Also a single 6970 wouldn't get 100fps on ultra, Atleast in 1080p. Only card what can run BF3 with 60+fps right now is 7970 what is not released. Why do you all want to go Intel and AMD? Get an i5 2500k and a GTX570. And 8GB of RAM. You PLAN to multitask alot. You wouldn't hit 8GB limit. Seriously.

You're absolute shit at this.
SLI 560's or Crossfire 6950's and a powerful i5 or i7.
Most useful aspect of this thread: Confirming that 2012 is a troll. @OP - Get a 2500K and wait and see if the new ATI 7970 that is coming out on the 9th is worth the money rather than buy now. Also it should drop GPU prices a fair bit.
