This is pretty tight.
The problem is, I'm on a laptop and I don't have a static ISP. I have my appartment's ISP, father's home, my mother's home, and my school.
So? Change the DNS settings on the laptop itself and it will override whatever settings are currently being used by the router.
Looks good, downloading.

what the fuck?
In this test, 82.76.253.125 is
1% Faster
than your current primary DNS server
(Incase IMG link is broken)
Now here is the silly question: how do i change my DNS? I got a 23% faster one.
In this test, Your current primary DNS server is
431% Faster
than UltraDNS
Well wow, media tagged for big image. 4662% faster.

Edit: Tried the new servers, man this is fun.
Edit Edit: Turns out I didn't read properly, that incredibly fast server timed out or something. Oh well, still like 400% faster.
I set the google DNS on my router and untick "Automatic from ISP", but for some reason it keeps ticking itself. However on the info page it says it uses the google one, yet this says I use a different one.
Trying the test again.
EDIT:
Yah it says my router is the DNS server.
:smith:
Where can I change my DNS? I haven't done anything with my router short of plugging it in.
I have no idea what any of the settings on this thing actually do. Should I just be running it on its default settings?
Changed my DNS, works like a charm. i have gone from 250kb/s to 315kb/s!
In this test, GNS SE is
8% Faster
than your current primary DNS server
Changed my DNS, works like a charm. i have gone from 250kb/s to 315kb/s!
in terms of he % increase, how much faster does it actually equate to?
Meh, UltraDNS was only 10% faster in general, and sometimes my ISP DNS was faster.
Hm.
Apparently Google is better than OpenDNS, for me.
I changed it and didn't notice much.
It won't get past the "Saving query details (CSV)" step.
My new settings seem unstable as my net keeps going down, I should probably restart my router but I'm gonna retest this tool. I did notice a huge boost though.
34% faster than my current DNS.
Kind of glad I got rid of OpenDNS.
This is a nice app.
Found a server which is 12% faster than the existing DNS. :)
Uh, DNS doesn't affect your speed, it just affects how much time goes between you type in the url and it gets turned into an ip you can connect to.
Changed my DNS, works like a charm. i have gone from 250kb/s to 315kb/s!
Switching DNS shouldnt effect your overall download speed, only the time taken to lookup a domain.
146% faster :wtc:
Changed my DNS, works like a charm. i have gone from 250kb/s to 315kb/s!
That's not what this does.
192.168.1.1 is 4% faster than OpenDNS.org!
(and all the others timed out?)
This is so cool!

So the fastest DNS for me is 36% faster, but gets 61x more "Err"'s (errors?) and the second best has NXDOMAIN hijacking. I think I'll stick with my current one for just now.
the best one was my default one and it was 45% faster
i was using opendns
fffff
Eh. Mine was only 4% faster. Not even worth the trouble of changing it.
Is 4% even a noticeable difference?
Ask these guys: http://www.schmidt-web.info/malte/english.html
Changed my DNS, works like a charm. i have gone from 250kb/s to 315kb/s!
DNS doesn't affect download speeds.
All it does is turn an address (www.google.com) into an IP address (74.125.95.104)
[editline]12:23PM[/editline]
Could somebody explain what NXDOMAIN Hijacking is? I've been seeing it in a lot of the results. And it doesn't sound very nice.
I think mine fucked up, it said google dns 2 is 3342% faster then everything else...
