This is kinda bad, but as cool as Bumptop looked, I could never stick with it
first youtube, now this?
YouTube couldn't have survived if it wasn't for Google's virtually limitless resources.
Damnit, this is almost as bad when Oracle bought Sun.
You still can download it
Damnit, this is almost as bad when Oracle bought Sun.
My thoughts exactly. I was almost shitting myself when Microsoft tried to buy out Yahoo. I chose Yahoo e-mail over hotmail so Microsoft wouldn't be all up in my shit! :cop:  :f5:
What do you think google is going to do with it?
put it out of its useless existence you know like when one big developer absorbs a smaller developer that puts out very few games and they're always bad, and then the team post-absorption stops making shitty games. Google now = shit.
yeah what the fuck do they think a company is for? certainly not for making money absolutely not
Grabbing a copy in case i want to use it in the future
I uploaded it for anyone...since that site was downloading at BYTES per second. Took me over 7 hours to download it. Anyway, if anyone else is having the same problem, here ya go: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1439918/Apps/BumpTop.exe
I got pro when it first went on sale and I went and got a refund. It is still working fyi
I tried this awhile ago, seemed somewhat cool, but I never had a use for it.
I always wanted to use this...
I used to have bumptop. Was a good program but my laptop runs it so bad and it does not suport 2 monitors on my big pc (atleast it did not when i used it).
I think that the latest version of bumptop has support for 2 monitors.
I'd care if the damn thing would run on my computer. The instant I get past the tutorial, the program freezes.
It's sad to see that with all of today's technology, nobody can figure out a practical use for a 3-Dimensional desktop. I guess we're doomed to a 2D desktop forever. :frown:
I propose a first-person desktop environment.
Except that the 2d plane is far easier to work with and comes closer to the actual desk analogy than what looks like a room. Personally still more piffed about google acquiring and closing etherpad than this.
What do you think google is going to do with it?
Claim it as their innovation, fill it full of ads, and use it to get all your information.
Maybe integration to the Chrome OS? That's the only reason I can think of for completely pulling the product.
Maybe integration to the Chrome OS? That's the only reason I can think of for completely pulling the product.
But chrome os is supposed to be for netbooks, and netbooks generally don't agree with rendering 3d objects with physics.
But chrome os is supposed to be for netbooks, and netbooks generally don't agree with rendering 3d objects with physics.
I think even my 5 year old mobile phone can render/predict such small things.
I hate it when companies just buy out things to shut them down... the consumers are like "WTF?"
I doubt it's actually been shut down, Google probably is turning it into what it's suppose be; a kick ass 3d desktop environment. Anyways, Bumptop was awesome with my Bamboo.
what the hell is Bamboo
A tablet.
if it's made out of bamboo i will buy it immediately
I had BumpTop once, but it just got really annoying and impractical.
