Just one thing, absolutely do not get a Samsung drive. I'd get a Western Digital, Samsungs are prone to fail and or have problems.

It'll freeze the computer and you can hear the drive sound out noises. Should probably RMA it, but cba. But the one I got, I love it. It's just that western digital must have some of the best quality drives, that's my second drive that I got when I needed more space.
Gigabyte is a graphics card company, like Powercolor, Sapphire, or XFX. It's just an ATI Radeon HD 5870.
They also made my motherboard.
Yah, Gigabyte also make mobos. Also, my Samsung hard drive is fine
Ordered, thanks for all your help
Out of interest, what did you order?
Ordered, thanks for all your help
If you got the core i7 you could speed it up in none hyperthreading apps by disabling hyperthreading until it is hyperthreading has better support.
Alright, I have a problem. I'm putting it together and there aren't enough cables. The PSU has the following plugs; 4x 6-pin 2x 6+2 pin The combined 5850s alone need 4x 6-pin slots and need to be directly plugged into the PSU. I also need to plug in my HDD, DVD drive and my case fans. What do you guys suggest that I do? I have the following cables; 4x 6-pin to 2x 4 pin Molex (came with the graphics cards) 2x cables that plug into the HDD and DVD drive, end in 6-pin 2x cables that starts with 6-pin and ends with 6+2-pin 2x cables with 2x molex plugs that end in a 6-pin
Taking the task of helping Hezzy on MSN.
Use the cables that came with the graphics cards. I got my 5870 today and I only had one 6 pin connector and used one of the adapters and it's working now.
The cables that come with the graphics cards are 6 pin to 4 pin molex adaptors. That's all fair and well but I don't have anything to plug it into. The PSU is modular and doesn't have any molex coming from it.
I don't really follow, what do you need more of?
Solved the problem, he needed more PCI-E POWA
His didn't come with 4?
4x 6-pin to 2x 4 pin Molex (came with the graphics cards) -These should simply be converters. 2x cables that plug into the HDD and DVD drive, end in 6-pin -That's not for the HDD / DVD drive. They should be using SATA power. 2x cables that starts with 6-pin and ends with 6+2-pin -These are for the graphics cards. 2x cables with 2x molex plugs that end in a 6-pin It'd be massively helpful if you could post a pic of all the cables (if that's possible). Or even the ones not currently in use.
Nah he just got a bit confused: working things out without any real indication of what the fuck you're working with is hard :(
The PSU is modular so there's the big motherboard plug, then a square 4 pin cable and an 8 pin cable coming out of it. There are 4 6-pin plugs on it along with 2 8-pin plugs. It came with 2 cables for SATA power that end with a 6-pin. Managed to fiddle the wires and cut that down to a single cable to the HDD and DVD R/W as opposed to one each. This occupies one of the 6 pin plugs It came with 2 cables that have female Molex and ends in a 6-pin. Using the PCI-E adaptors to use both of the cables. This supplies power for one of the cards. These occupy two of the 6 pin plugs It came with 2 cables that start with 6 pin and end in 6+2pin. Using those for the other card. These occupy both of the 8 pin plugs. It should work, going to put the rest of it together tomorrow.
