Not entirely sure where to ask this question, since probably all people on FP who knows this shit are all regulars of this thread. But does anyone know of a good and thorough guide for Docker? I'm not talking about "for dummies" guides or a sysadmins primer, but something in the "you're used to deal with VmWare and Virtualbox? well try Docker" category. I've tried a few times, and after a short while I always seem to ram into Mt. Stupid and fuck things up badly. My familiar environments (and what I'll be using it with) Is anything Ubuntu LTS and latest Debian stable. Some sort of well tested GUI would especially be appreciated since I feel like the hand-holding is sadly necessary.
Well newegg has the same rack, might try buying from there. Or spending a tiny bit more and trying to find one that has sides on it to help reduce noise.
Wondering why nothing would write to the home directories on server. Found out the reason why. /home/kiwi/arma3 - 13GB The home mount is only 20GB, it was fucking full. I told you that big shit goes under /var
What do you screw up? Like I have dabbled with Docker recently.
Everything beyond initially setting up the container template, long story short.

I've wanted to use that Steam Cache docker to cache all my steam/origin/etc stuff, but setting it up in windows server made my head hurt.

Running Docker Edge because Windows Server support for Linux Containers
Like this? We couldn't even debug properly for a while because they locked off Visual Studio from accessing the GAC. No, I'm not making that up. You'd think deleting it and pulling a fresh copy from source control would fix it but it fucking doesn't. Windows development folks, it's a mess.

Might as well just call Windows software development textbooks spellbooks.

Anyone here used InFlow? Please, share my pain.
Now I'm thinking of going with this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16816215002 Any concerns? Want a small enclosed one, but those are like 500. The server is a SM 846, and according to the website it's 26" dep, so the adjustable ones seem nifty for that.
That looks pretty nice, but it's always worth checking out Craiglist to find one second hand too. [editline]13th July 2017[/editline] Nevermind, you'd probably be looking the same price unless a business was liquidating their assets.
I guess I'm that one house on the block that takes down their Christmas lights in July
I've been looking for second hand small racks for like half a year now. Nothing ever came up. I also don't need a massive 45U
5 € Lack Rack?
5 € Lack Rack?
My server weighs like 140 pounds. 24 3.5" harddrives + the chassis ok maybe not 140, but enough to where I want something designed for it.
My server weighs like 140 pounds. 24 3.5" harddrives + the chassis
I'm assuming it has rails then? No problemo.

I wonder how hard it'd be to cut a 40u rack in half and turn it into a 20, 'cause there's always one going for free on gumtree here :v:

Man, Grafana is pretty cool. So I'm collecting data of my server with NetData and then send that through InfluxDB to Grafana. I wish I would have found this earlier, but oh well.
5 € Lack Rack?
Nope. Not a good idea to do that any more for anything. Old lacks used wood. Cheap wood but wood. The new ones are cardboard. The strength of the whole things went down significantly, they can't support anything useful anymore.
