If it is any condolence, you can share this intelligent decision. Whose bright idea was it to let user share their purchase history integrate like that? Who would even want to? The more i see it on sites, the more annoyed I am.

People want to show off and also they hope others will be interested enough to buy one too.
Thanks to modern Lenovo being shit there's really not much reason to get a modern Thinkpad since Dell does the same thing but better with the Latitude line these days. The Latitude 5580 seems pretty nice, for example.
Why is modern Lenovo shit? Dells have pretty good industrial design but I have very few complaints with lenovo's designs that wouldn't also apply to dell (i.e. one gigantic and easy-to-kill systemboard with everything soldered to it, lack of usb ports) You can meme on superfish all you want but honestly most of my lenovo experience has been pretty positive considering that i watch them break all day, the 440-450-460/s and W5xx-P51 are rock solid aside from the docking stations The P51 and P51s are just fantastic laptops if you don't mind the heft and heat and the T470p is basically perfection

As for the actual Thinkpads, without even getting into Lenovo as a company, the Thinkpad X270 doesn't have as many ports as it could and should, it doesn't have good expandability since they didn't replace ExpressCard with anything (whereas the Latitude has Thunderbolt 3 which is superb) and there's only one RAM slot, it's more expensive than other similar laptops, and in general nothing's really improved other than the given benefits of using newer hardware. The screens are still meh (1336x768 on a $1,200 laptop? C'mon.) unless you pay a bunch extra, same old Intel HD GPUs (whereas Iris Pro is available on some Latitudes), webcam and mic are still awful, etc. Another big aspect of the appeal of older Thinkpads is businesses used to buy them en masse, then sell them a few years later en masse when they upgraded, making getting a Thinkpad in good condition for cheap very easy. The problem is businesses don't really buy Thinkpads anymore. They tend to buy Dell Latitudes. That's not to say the modern Thinkpads are shit per se, I just really don't see any reason to get one over a Dell Latitude, while there's a good handful of reasons to get a Dell Latitude over a Thinkpad. The only thing Thinkpads really having going for them nowadays is the brand recognition. [editline]21st September 2017[/editline] That said if the Anniversary Thinkpad has a Thunderbolt 3 port like it's rumored to, fuck everything I just said, I'm buyin' that shit instantly.
The features thing is so model specific you can't really generalize, though. Dell sells some crappy models like the E7470 / E7480 at an absurd price too, and the flagship thinkpads have TB3. Why get an X270 when you could just use a T470s, anyway? On the used market, Dells are a better value, but there is nothing bad about a computer retaining its value either (most people don't knock on Apple products for that reason). Also, the P51 is still a thiccpad. It's heavy, decently durable and packs enough features and battery with comfy enough ergonomics that you can honestly forget that you're using a laptop. Isn't that the point of classic Thinkpads?

GPU sag can be pretty easily mitigated so that's not much of a problem, really
GPU sag can be pretty easily mitigated so that's not much of a problem, really
True, I've been considering getting a bracket or a backplate for my 290x, since pulling it out and putting it in my new system I've noticed its started to go quite a bit in the usual areas around the power connectors. Might be worth going the backplate route considering I'm having to rip the whole thing apart anyway to replace the cooler fans when they arrive, always made me giggle a bit how each 3rd party uses basically the same OEM fans for their coolers, XFX, MSI and EVGA all use the same ones, same blades, motors and bearings, only difference is the mounting points. So I'm gonna be putting EVGA fans into my XFX cooler which use the same motors and blades that the original XFX cooler uses and because by luck, both of those use the same mounting points while the MSI version uses a much smaller Y like layout compared to the X that the XFX and EVGA does.

My new GTX 960 replacement card came in a few days ago and so far hasn't crashed. Let's hope it's going to stay like this.

Yeah EVGA remembered how to make a cooler again

I contact EVGA and they said that it should be fine.
This should not be of any concern. This is common with larger graphics cards. Here's one thing that SUCKS about modern printer design: [t]http://www.colourink.com.my/webshaper/pcm/gallery/lg/1219a02f08a2aafb556597cf04b97f7f1463892137-lg.jpg[/t] That goddamned paper tray. It flips up when not in use, but it's never not in use because why would I store paper anywhere but on the paper tray, ready to print? And the face that gets printed is the top, of the top-most page, every time. The result of this superior japanese design is that if I let the thing sit for more than a couple days in my dusty ass room, the dust on the topmost page gets sucked right into the mechanism, and it doesn't take more than 10 pages for the drum to have a bunch of toner and dust specks that end up printing specks on every page. Gravity-fed inkjets also had this problem to some extent, but it was mitigated by the fact the whole page doesn't have to contact a stupidly fragile drum when printing. If they matched the footprint to fully cover the thing, I'd also get a print tray that was worth something and didn't just spit pages over and off the desk whenever I put more than two jobs in the queue.
tbh although that design sucks, i reload the paper in my inkjet like every single time i print anyway because it's always loaded with the wrong kind
I dream of the day we can print without adding margins. I have to print a lot of posters at work and then I have to cut the borders off every single one of them with an x-acto.
I still use one o these bad boys:

I have played GTA VC a lot in my childhood and today I finally finished it. considering 100%-ing it too but that sounds a bit excessive. Time to pick up a new game, I guess GTA SA should run fine too on this laptop.

I mean if you think about how much his company is paying him to take the time to cut the ends off of each poster with an xacto, it might actually be more cost effective to do borderless printing.
