Why is Uranus so small?
rude.
Fill Uranus with one extremely large file to expand it
Fill Uranus with one extremely large file to expand it
Artificial enlargers don't count.
I did something like this years ago. I think I named a little 80GB drive pluto. I still have that drive, I think... I kinda want to figure out a consistent scheme for my drives again but I'm lazy. Maybe starsystems. Arcturus is a good name.
All my drives are just labeled by function but maybe I can fit them to the futurama theme all my devices and servers are. I'm boring and just leave my C drive as Windows (C:) or Local Disk (C:) and name my storage drive Data (E:).
I'm boring and just leave my C drive as Windows (C:) or Local Disk (C:) and name my storage drive Data (E:).
I have SSD (C:), Video Games (G:), Stuff (F:), and More Stuff (E:)
I bought an SSD for generally Stuff and the most inventive name I could think of for it was "SSD Stuff."
What's the best cheap VPS you guys would recommend with * 4GB RAM * Decent amount of storage (at least 50GB, but doesn't need to be an SSD) * At least 95% up time. Looking to host some project management software and a few web pages. Domain services are a plus but I'll just go with Google domain if not. [editline].[/editline] Scratch the domain service, I just went ahead and got one with Google.

They have excellent deals, without being a trash OpenVZ provider that overloads their boxes. They do manage their setup well and their infrastructure is good (but it does vary location to location, keep that in mind). They're far more than a bargin-bin provider, like so many. You do get good performance for the price. You do get a great featureset for the price. You do get a great location selection. You do get excellent control over what you run on the machine (They have a good, plain old ISO upload option on top of a good prebuilt image selection), and best of all you get a good range of resource selection.

I think I might want to try out their $5/month deal to test the waters then go to a more expensive plan when I need to.

It requires a reboot. Given that it's PAYG you'll only pay for the time the VM is that instance size too, so if you spend half the month at the $5/mo level and half at $10/mo, you'll only be paying $7.50. Oh! There is one caveat I have to mention here. They're a pain in the ass if you want to run a mailserver. They require manual identity verification and they can get a little over the top in the information they ask for, so you're best going elsewhere if you plan on doing that.
Sounds good, that'll work. Thanks bb
Tbh if you want to run your own mail server you probably just shouldn't.
Tbh if you want to run your own mail server you probably just shouldn't.
It's more convenient to just pay $10 a month and let google run it for you.
I finally figured out how to do OpenVPN on my edgerouter and now I feel like I should've done this a year ago. No more teamviewer into my desktop so I can run putty and ssh into my server.
Tbh if you want to run your own mail server you probably just shouldn't.
I'm not lol I'd sooner just pay Google to do it for me
It's more convenient to just pay $10 a month and let google run it for you.
Hell my namecheap email hosting is just 10 a year plus domain registration costs
Hell my namecheap email hosting is just 10 a year plus domain registration costs
With Google you also get Google Drive though, which is nice. I've been using it for my fourth backup location, only complaint is uploading to it is sloooooow.
Looked at the Acer Predator XB271HU before I went on holidays, cheapest place was $40 less than the next one. Came back from holidays, checked again and it's now $60 cheaper and the same price as the TN variant (XB271HUA). Now I have to decide whether to carry the fucker 3km home from work or trust an uber driver.
The monitor is a beautiful screen. Don't regret buying mine in 2015 for $800+
Spam is a serious criminal offence in some countries now, so the information required is understandable.
Indeed, but I do wish they improved their handling of requests. It's kinda sloppy and not always clear how to get it done. That's my one complaint there, really.
Tbh if you want to run your own mail server you probably just shouldn't.
lol I run my mail server on a raspberry pi with no issues
Or just get custom domain email hosting for free I use zoho.com but there probably are others
lol I run my mail server on a raspberry pi with no issues
You must really not be doing shit with it. Speaking as someone who's run everything from home mailservers to nationwide ones.
lol I run my mail server on a raspberry pi with no issues
On a home connection? SMTP is the one thing virtually all ISPs throttle or block.
On a home connection? SMTP is the one thing virtually all ISPs throttle or block.
Somehow, my ISP doesn't. But like hell I want that attention on my home connection. It's already stressful enough dealing with it professionally.
Somehow, my ISP doesn't. But like hell I want that attention on my home connection. No one cares and by the time you get off one list you're on another.
On a home connection? SMTP is the one thing virtually all ISPs throttle or block.
I tried myself on my home server. Virgin Media seems to work okay but the IP I was assigned to was on some large blocklist so I gave up with it after a day. Tried a few other budget mail providers including MXRoute. In the end I just decided to bite the bullet and bought Outlook Premium (Outlook.com with your own domain and no ads). Works a treat.
Or just get custom domain email hosting for free I use zoho.com but there probably are others
They have terrible spam filters. It's nowhere near as good as Google's.
