Looks like some of the newer models have closed the gap though, still either performing the same or worse for the most part save the 280mm one in there.

Not to mention he's apparently testing this thing in a freezer, the ambient temperature during testing was 19C. Residential households are around 22-25C, and they can get worse when you've got a few hundred watts worth of electronics.

And I have far more than a few hundred watts of electronics.

With target temperature and decent airflow all around, it'll just eat up all the ambient heat if you tell it to, but AC is a pretty American thing. Northern Europe, we insulate. Southern Europe, they build the houses out of basically nothing so they get shade + lots of airflow to make you feel cooler, through wind chill. But if you went somewhere stupid like Arizona and set the AC to 19C, you'd be paying for the electricity well into the winter.

Yeah, AC. I keep it really cool in the summer and it's not bad cost wise.

I have a hilariously low tolerance for heat and humidity, anything above 70F with med humidity and I'm fuckin' dying. As such, I keep my AC on basically all summer long . (I'm in upstate NY)

I picked up two 8TB easy stores at BB today. Both are WD80EFAX's. Meaning WD Red's with 256mb cache. Hot damn.

In comparison, you can find seagate backups plus or expansions for $179, but there is a good chance they still use archive drives. Some people are finding barracudas in them now though.

Is it self content if I some how managed to use the hotkey to activate filter keys (apparently, hold shift for 8 seconds then tap enter??) accidentally and then was very confused why my computer just beeped at me instead of typing letters?

The 2nd one isn't standard, so it's up to the manu to decide how to implement it. Just put your m.2 in the top.
