Can't be any worse than ESXi, its currently reporting my fans are spinning at 4 RPMs and my CPUs are 165 degrees Celsius.
What are you running it on?
I didn't respond to Binary because I didn't want to cause drama, but the reason for the rating was because you spent about 10 posts in SF trying tell me I'm sexist on a subconscious level and then you post something that implies it's hard to find a girlfriend that isn't, but once you do life's great. Just seemed slightly hypocritical, I apologise if I'm wrong, but it's just a picture of a box and no one really cares about it. [editline]19th October 2017[/editline] A UHD Blu-ray did that?
you cared enough to rate me it i'm confident in the opinions i have shared on this forum
So the Fall Update broke a lot of things. So lots of tickets today.
Generally I find any media devices need to be reselected on each update. TeamSpeak will tell me that the output and capture device I use no longer exist. Well they do, but I assume their UUID have been reset. Just like sometimes when you change their usb port. This also affects webcams numbers shit. So I assume you're seeing these problems with capture cards. Generally just selecting the device again in the list fixes the problem

BootLoops for some people.
Not that simple unfortunately. Shits broke. BootLoops for some people.
Daaaaaaaamn. There was the bootloop issue from last week, but that's not related to the 1710's Rollout
I really really really really really really really really really (really) do not want to have to use Windows 10 [editline]18th October 2017[/editline] It's been over two years, are the growing pains just going to be eternal from now on?
It has so many improvements but manages to do so much stupid shit at the same time.
Windows 10 is the best version so far in my opinion. It does so many things right. But it's also Microsoft so half of it will be abandoned in a year.
Honestly I've never run into anything in Win10 that annoys me more than anything did in Win7/8. Granted I'm not in the IT field and I don't do too much on the software side of things but for my uses it's never given me any major headaches. Probably the only thing that was annoying was sometimes windows explorer would open a new window when you navigated to a new folder for no reason. Then that just fixed itself one day. A lot more things I'm sure have annoyed me but it should say something that I can't recall any of them off the top of my head.
Don't forget telemetry
My biggest complaint about Win10 is that it tends to hide actual useful progress in favor of ui simplicity No, office, 9 hours is not "ready in a few minutes", a frowny face with a qr code isn't an acceptable error message, and it is not ok to just display "Please don't shut down the PC" and nothing else while updates install for 30 minutes

As a power user, you can see how simplifiying the screen is backwards, but for others that are less than capable, it offers a better chance at fixing the situation. No more having to copy down a URL from a screen, it's still there last I checked, shortened, but anyone can still easily navigate there with their mobile camera.
oh right yeah press Win+.
I'm having issues with a very laggy VNC on one of my PCs since the creators update. It is a piss weak i5 650, but even so it didn't happen before the update.
I'm having issues with a very laggy VNC on one of my PCs since the creators update.
VNC server or client?
As a power user, you can see how simplifiying the screen is backwards, but for others that are less than capable, it offers a better chance at fixing the situation.
and also a better chance at giving them the confidence to screw up their windows install via startup repair or refreshes because every option assures that things will be fine. Or just to see the error and restart the PC as the first sentence directs them to, losing the error message, instead of scaring them into calling IT and leaving everything as is. leave kernel panics and debug options scary and informative
VNC server or client?
Server side, it's weird because RDP works fine.
I guess it's time to avoid the latest Windows 10 update (again)
Anyone here with the android SDK able to mirror the drivers? Mine's fucked, fastboot drivers don't exist
So installed 1709. Got bluescreen 5 times in a row. It auto uninstalled.
A UHD Blu-ray did that?
Specifically this one. One of the few that aren't 24 fps, average bitrate of a tad over 100 mbps, max of 125 or so.
What are you running it on?
Dell T620 (dual E5-2640 + 16x8GB DDR3 sticks) with Dell Customized ESXI image.
Windows 10 is fine tbh. I've been using it since day one and haven't had a single major issue, even though I upgraded from Windows 7 as opposed to a fresh install. I feel like some (not all or even most) of the hate surrounding it is residual from the shit show that was Windows 8.
But I preferred 8 to 10. IMO it was more stable and didn't strip nearly as much shit out of menus like 10 has. If not for DX12 I'd probably still be on it with my gaming rig. [editline]18th October 2017[/editline] And I dunno, sure it's my job but I run into many major issues with it. [editline]18th October 2017[/editline] More than previous versions if you don't count the issue being not being on the latest version of windows :v:
Specifically this one. One of the few that aren't 24 fps, average bitrate of a tad over 100 mbps, max of 125 or so.
Oh, so it's 125mbps 4k60 fps? What CPU do you have?
Oh, so it's 125mbps 4k60 fps? What CPU do you have?
Ryzen 7 1700 at 3.7 GHz. HEVC is pretty intensive.
HEVC should be running on the GPU, no?
Ryzen 7 1700 at 3.7 GHz. HEVC is pretty intensive.
Ah ok, I thought Wingless said UHD Blu-ray wouldn't work on Ryzen for some reason.
Server side, it's weird because RDP works fine.
VNC is made for UNIX systems and tends not to play very nicely with Windows (as the host) I've found. You're better off sticking with RDP; you can connect to an RDP host from pretty much every major platform.
HEVC should be running on the GPU, no?
The GPU needs to support the codec and the bitrate, could also be a DRM thing.
Get ready for mods on Geforce Experience [t]https://tenryuu.blob.core.windows.net/astrid/17-10-19_16-53-25-Windows_PowerShell.png[/t] Specifically shadowplay [editline]19th October 2017[/editline] trying to set a keybind to these returns an interesting response code '{"type":"Error","code":-2147220958,"codeText":"ShadowPlay: Unknown property name"}' For a command that usually returns a response I'm unsure where nvidia store their keyconfigs
