I didn't respond to Binary because I didn't want to cause drama, but the reason for the rating was because you spent about 10 posts in SF trying tell me I'm sexist on a subconscious level and then you post something that implies it's hard to find a girlfriend that isn't crazy, but once you do life's great. Just seemed slightly hypocritical, I apologise if I'm wrong, but it's just a picture of a box and no one really cares about it.

So you followed him around and dumbed all his posts because of a disagreement you had in another thread?
Wow you sure showed him!
So you followed him around and dumbed all his posts because of a disagreement you had in another thread?
Wow you sure showed him!
I viewed his post as hypocritical and rated it, I apologise to LordCrypto for any offence(not being sarcastic).
But really, I don't care to draw this out. If my actions were stupid, I'll try to avoid making them the in future, live and learn I guess.
I thought caring about ratings was bannable? I am starting to care about all these people caring about ratings because all their care is getting on my caring nervers.
HEVC should be running on the GPU, no?
CPU is decoding the HVEC stream, GPU is doing post processing and downscaling to 1440p. GT 1030 isn't a powerhouse so it takes about 100 ms per frame, process of elimination is up to reinstalling Windows as the next step to get the 1060 working again followed by motherboard.
Ah ok, I thought Wingless said UHD Blu-ray wouldn't work on Ryzen for some reason.
HDCP 2.0 on UHD blurays is what doesn't work on Ryzen. Works fine after you remove the DRM.

I wonder if it would make sense to set my Game SSD to use NTFS compression.

From the other thread:
That option doesn't use the EXE flag, which is what allows better, multi-threaded compression.
Basically you cannot unbind a key because something is already using the unbound state
I... don't know what that means
I'm going to assume that because NTFS compression is probably from the 90s that it only utilizes a single core for its compressing

Also on the previous topic of Windows 10, my main problem is having an "Operating System as a Service", where they throw stability out the window and run it like it's the nightly build of a web browser
When the software itself is no longer the product, and you using it is, things are going to severely suffer for it
[editline]19th October 2017[/editline]
I have never once been aware of a Windows 7 build number, but seemingly every major patch I found out what's currently broken in Build XXXX of Win10

That's the insider builds tbh tbh

Known issue though, they pushed this out knowing it was a bug... that I didn't read
If there's bugs with people being able to not update, they most definitely hold them back, usually this holds up builds for a week
I like the new service though, because it means that there's actually changes to look forward too, instead of major updates only every three years, which in tech is a really long time
Imagine three years of out of the box windows 10 :v:
No major changes at all to privacy controls,
now they're really easy to manage, you can still use a tool for the deep shit. But you can look at the data you send them
There's all my phone cortana usage ready for me to play back

If you have Elan or Synaptics touchpad drivers on your laptop, you can maybe make them less shitty by using Windows Precision drivers instead

So I guess the rest of the computer wasn't fine after all, just received my new PSU and was gonna do some cable management aaaaand then I see this.
Guess I'll be without a proper computer for yet another while.

that's still pretty ridiculous though
also the delete keys is the button to press to clear, it's not made obvious

The Precision touchpad on my Surface Pro 3 w/ Pro 4 type cover is great
One problem I have with my type cover 2 is that the region is wayyy too small
the cover 1 had physical buttons for the mouse in retrospect, this one's fully fabric
Sometimes I trigger a 3 swipe down, otherwise gesture support feels naturally implemented.
Sometimes I get a really weird bug, which is integrated across multiple surface pro 1's
inserting the keyboard sometimes restarts the device.
we've replaced both the keyboard and the tablet and it persists.
least I got a free type cover upgrade from it, the new one had backlit keys
I've got an upgrade task sequence done for 1709 at my company now. So far no troubles with it interfering with any of our applications in the pre-prod group. The worst thing I've seen so far was just some wallpapers reverted to default for some reason? Users hate that dumb shit. In any case the process has been smoother for me than 1607->1703 which had a lot of failures but at least every time it failed it just restored back to the old version cleanly.
So installed 1709. Got bluescreen 5 times in a row. It auto uninstalled.
ghacks have posted some troubleshooting notes
My work machine has updates handled by their version of Windows Update.
The 1607 update just started downloading today.
These machines are hot garbage.

Are you sure? I'm posting from my Surface Pro 1 and it's all fabric, no physical buttons at all in the Type Cover trackpad.

The one in my T470s works great, the only thing I can complain about is that I felt like the Synaptics options were a little more flexible. For right clicking, I used to do a two-finger click or something on my old Vaio Pro 13. Now, the only option I have for right clicking without clicking in the corner is a three finger tap which I can't always get to work 100% of the time.
Updating all the Win10 machines at work wish me luck.
Happy to report that my puny lil FX8350 build survived updating to the latest Windows build successfully and hasn't exploded.
