For what it's worth, appending /slack to a Discord webhook magically makes it compatible with Slack webhooks. (we do our Gitlab webhooks this way; it's not perfect, but it works well enough)
Huh? Haven't been able to get GitLab.com webhooks to work this way.

Oh nevermind, I see what you mean. "Slack notifications" integration, not regular Gitlab webhooks.
Wish there was a way to set those up for a group rather than per project though.
Yeah but how does it work to log in on Android? On lastpass I get a pop-up and fingerprint to authorize to fill passwords. Can I get that in keepass?
Supply your own cloud storage, there have been a number of security issues in the paste with lastpass. Having g every password centralised on a service makes it a temptation for hacking.
When you control the database entirely, your own op-sec will most likely be more effective.
I store mine on my own server. I need to ssh into the box to fetch it from my phone. Only because I refuse to make it easy to find
I'd never trust the passwords to all my things to a 3rd party without me even knowing them

In my mind, using randomized passwords stored on a sticky note under my keyboard is a more secure solution than that
No laughing at cable management since I literally just moved into this place, but I finally had the ISP guy out to swap the router/modem with just a modem, and got everything setup.

All new and first time doing any sort of networking like this myself. Pretty happy and once I get a shelf I can actually organize and put it away neatly.
Getting good speeds all around too, and named my SSID "C:\Virus.exe"
So comcast never showed up.
Now it looks like they scheduled it for tomorrow not today. Then they called and said it wouldn't be the cable tap work, but rather just a normal tech to look inside the house and look at the equipment. You know the same fucking thing they did last week. Oh joy, maybe I'll be without working internet for 3 weeks.
Today I got to cancel a Comcast service with my girlfriend. It was kinda satisfying.
I canceled mine a couple weeks ago but they were really easy by just saying that I was moving in with a roommate and they already had service.

Hello.
Yes, it still works.
If I had the ability to cancel I might try doing it myself just to say why I was cancelling in a stern voice. If it failed I might try those cancel bots you can use.

Funny enough, we have the almost exact same setup. Surfboard modem, ERLite, Unifi AC lite, 8 port dumb switch. And it's also a fucking mess in the same fashion. But goddamn, wired gigabit down is so nice.
My Logitech M500 mouse finally arrived, I had to order it from overseas because no Australian retailers had it, I guess that mouse wasn't selling well here.

IIRC these are basically unbuildable now because they replaced the legs with literal cardboard
You put any screws into them and they'll just rip it apart, you have to replace the legs with proper wood

Literally nothing on that cardboard box is rack mountable.

Haven't they always been like that?
I thought blades just sat on top of each other in a lackrack for the most part and were screwed in to not fall out the front.

I wonder how much money you could make by hooking into wallets and browsers and only changing the address in transactions, so the address displayed to the user remains the original one (possibly even substituting the original address back into confirmations / TX logs). You know, like actual banking trojans. 🤔

Coming to think of it, my setup is kind of a mess too and I should probably get a Lackrack sometime. I have a Cisco 2921 sitting on two bricks of foam in the wardrobe of my bedroom, and then a Cisco 2921 slapped in the closet on the attic. It looks bad but hey, my network is solid!

With mine, a much older one, the legs are MDF, and hollow but the cavity isn't huge like it is on new ones.

Eh, I wouldn't compare the two. The situations between the two countries are so very different. That, and honestly I haven't properly dealt with Telstra in about 12 years.

Congrats!!!
Now I have a question - I have the Cloud Controller for my setup but I realized I can't actually see my LAN network on it, only the WLAN through my AP.
So the UGS is what I need, which means that'd replace my EdgeRouter Lite. This is all so I can use the same control panel, is it worth it? Should I even bother? I'd love to have it all in the same place, plus being able to watch my traffic.
That also raises another question, do I need the switch for it? Or can I keep my D-Link?
Man, playing Just in Time Incorporated and I expect you to die really highlights one of my biggest gripes with the current state of VR. Both these titles are fairly high-ticket items, and both of them feature a pretty nice framework for serial content. But both suffer from the fact that they only feature a few levels, IETD has very few well polished ones while JITI has a few more but most of them are done within a minute or two.
VR games just need more content, having a polished game is great but not worth much if you only spend half an hour in them.

I had bought the Edgerouter 6 months prior, I didn't expect to get Unifi AP's. I didn't bother changing to a USG, since while its a nice to have, it isn't necessary. And I can deal with two control panels, especially since I'm not made of money. But then again, I don't use a Unifi Cloud key. My controller is a Linux VM on an ESXI host.
I don't think you need a Unifi switch, you just won't have switch stats in the Unifi interface, so you won't be able to see usage and clients on individual ports.
What's the purpose of enterprise APs and small switching setups at home, is it mostly for educational purposes?
I'm new to this networking stuff and it seems like 99.99% of the time my home network has any issues it's because of the stupid ISP gateway disconnecting.

The only reason I'd buy an enterprise setup is because it seems like every consumer-level router I buy is garbage.
My Netgear Nighthawk for example is a good router on paper but randomly requires a restart since it will just stop transmitting packets to a random device (usually the Xbox which we use for netflix/hulu/etc)
I should just connect it with ethernet since the router is 4 feet away from the Xbox but I'm a lazy piece of shit.

Enterprise stuff gets security patches 5 years down the line, or is powerful enough to run your own distro comfortably.

The main thing with the APs is that they're just simply better. People love to shill things like Unifi's because they are really, really good. Never a reliability issue, some pretty damn neat features, and excellent software to control them. They're just really damn good.
Switching and routing reasons can vary a lot. Sometimes it's education, homelab stuff. Sometimes it's the same as the APs. Sometimes you just got it from work because they were throwing it out and you need a new router.
For example, my router back in AU is a Juniper SRX240, I rolled with this for both of the reasons I listed, but the single biggest being the fact that at the time I got it, I was completely stuck on a really shitty ADSL2+ setup, and boy, consumer ADSL2+ modems really... really... really suck.
Like, just try uploading anything over 10MB and watch how just about every damn modem on the market buffer bloats out the wazoo and both upload and download performance goes to shit.
So, I used that plus an ADSL2+ Mini-PIM and I got no more buffer bloat, no more issues, better performance and something that was actually really critical was actual line stat information (As in, well beyond what consumer gear gives you) that I could then hand over to my phone provider and say "The phone line is fucked, fix it". Something I had been trying to do for years beforehand and it finally allowed me to succeed at.
