I'm vaguely tempted to get a PS[3-4] just because my blu-ray drive broke and it was a pain in the ass to watch movies on PC anyways because of copy-protection bullshit.
If that was your main goal, I would buy a PS triple just because they are fairly inexpensive. Plus it has loads of good exclusives that can be had for cheap and its still a better player than most set top boxes.
Every console this generation..except maybe anything from nintendo?...has blu-ray now.
Well, I've already got a Switch, it doesn't do discs at all. And I've got a Wii U, but that doesn't do videos, not even DVDs. And I have a Gamecube still, it doesn't do shit with video either, because the discs are too small. So yeah, I think I'd need a new console, if I wanted blu-ray.
Idk about the ps4 or ps4 pro but the one s and x also does 4k Netflix if you're into that

Don't get one as a media player, for this generation the XB1 takes that title, it is genuinely fantastic for it. So honestly, get a PS3, unless you want UHD-BD, in which case get an XB1.
Is there a cooling mod for the PS3 one can do? Because the original model PS3 is perfect in every way except size and the fact that it sounds like a fucking leaf blower.
Would you believe this video is from 2013?
Man the amount of consoles my house now has is insane. All together we have an nes, snes, n64, gc, wii, wiiu, 2 switches, ps2, 2 ps3s, xb360, xb1, and a large assortment of handhelds. We also have 3 50" TV's so we're trying to figure out how to divide it all up.
Lol we have 2 n64s, 2 wiius, a switch, 3 ps2s, 2 ps3s, a PS4, an original Xbox, 4 Xbox 360s, and 3 xbones. We also have 8 pcs, a vive and 2 Mac g4s.
I have 1 wii and a bootleg snes. I lack a video cable for the wii, just joined a FB group to ask for one. I also have a PS3 with no controllers in my closet, belongs to my friend but he owes me money anyways so it is almost fair.

how much of a fucking fool would I be if I learned the basics of graphics programming with OpenGL 2.1 because I only care about learning the basics and maybe pumping out a simple project or two and I don't care about performance and I don't plan on pursuing 3D graphics programming much in the future
Why 2.1 specifically?
I want to learn from OpenGL Superbible but that's put me in a bit of an awkward spot thanks to macOS's OpenGL support. The latest edition that macOS fully supports covers OpenGL 3.3, but I think it's a bit of a waste of time to learn such an old version that seemingly doesn't really offer anything over OpenGL 4.x. 2.1, meanwhile, offers the fixed pipeline approach which I hear is easier and a decent foundation to learn first before diving into shaders. However I wonder if I'm just being a fool by going for 2.1

However I wonder if I'm just being a fool by going for 2.1
OpenGL in general is kind of a bad choice to learn these days, and early versions teach you basically nothing about how modern graphics works. It's like 70% mysterious incantations even after you learn it. It's not the most friendly, step-by-step way to learn, but if you're a competent programmer with no graphics experience, I'd recommend learning Vulkan with the blog series I Am Graphics And So Can You.
I did consider learning Vulkan but again macOS doesn't support that. I could do this on my Windows machine or dual boot Linux but graphics programming is far from my first priority so I don't really wanna do that :v: I also considered Metal but didn't really see any good resources that focus on macOS rather than iOS development, and I'm not a big fan of platform specific APIs anyway.
How smooth VNC over 10 gigabit ethernet, can you play videos at full screen?
You can't even play videos full screen when VNC is connecting to a VM on the same machine.
How smooth VNC over 10 gigabit ethernet, can you play videos at full screen?
VNC was never really intended for video and is just a simple protocol for getting an interactive terminal session over a network. Its less a bandwidth problem and more a limitation of how it captures and transmits the screen. You're better off with RDP 8.1 honestly if your connecting to a Windows 8 or 10 host. It performs much better than RDP in 7 and below. Video works fairly well, but expect frame drops over WAN. Games, are still very iffy due to it not being concerned with latency.
How smooth VNC over 10 gigabit ethernet, can you play videos at full screen?
you need 3d acceleration for that. You can do it with steam in-home streaming or moonlight with nvidia gamestream over even shitty internet connections

3 x 500 = 1024 now?
As a kid - I saved website as html onto computer and edited it and thought I am a hackerman. Boy was I wrong.
As a kid - I saved website as html onto computer and edited it and thought I am a hackerman. Boy was I wrong.
I got bored and was viewing the page source of a random Web page and people thought I was hacking.. This was in middle school.

My PS3 is the best BluRay player you could hope for.
2 Mac g4s.
OS9 or no OS9? My school has one that dropped off a table, dead hard drive, screen bezel broke etc. it’s too new for OS 9.
