Finally bought my flights for PAX West. Went with Delta "comfort+" basically premium economy. It's a long trip from Florida to Seattle and back and I'm decently tall so I was worried about comfort. And since my hotel is actually covered by Twitch, I can save like a fuck ton of money and put it into a nicer flight. Feel so lost in all of it.
we should hang out at pax i'll ask my friend to wear his CLG Harambe jersey again so you can find us easier
Just don't call me names.
I hate it when a person uses "X is a meme" to dismiss an argument about some piece of hardware/software.

So BestBuy now has the 8TB easystores for $160. I paid 200 each two weeks ago. So I gotta find my receipt and go into the store to get my 80 bucks. Don't need to buy more right now, as tempting as it is. But definitely need to get a refund for that.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-easystore-8tb-external-usb-3-0-hard-drive-black/5792401.p?skuId=5792401 it's crazy too since there is like a 95% chance these have 256mb Cache REDs in them.
comfort+ also gets you free booze last time i flew comfort+ i wasn't 21 and i was so tempted to ask for a drink but it would've been awkward if they carded me
They know if you're under 21, they keep track based on your seat number and have it for everyone on the plane. Some airlines had this thing where if you are flying from Canada (legal drinking age is 18-19 depending on province) into USA (legal drinking age is 21 for whoever didn't know) you would be fine as if you were under 21. However on the other way around, you're supposed to not get any booze since their regulation is based on whatever country/regulations you departed from on the plane. Although some don't give a shit, especially Porter since you get free booze on the flight anyways (wine, local Toronto craft beer). Something that I would want to do is fly in business so I can get a pre-flight drink. With Porter, you can get a pre-flight drink in their lounge (which was pretty nice), nothing alcoholic but water, soda, coffee, cookies was a neat addition to the flight experience. You can get as many as you'd like too. With the amount of free shit they include, I'd fly Porter over some other airlines if I was traveling to nearby destinations. Still the typical baggage fees but since it's a prop plane, it's a bit more ok. [editline]23rd July 2017[/editline]
So BestBuy now has the 8TB easystores for $160.
Wasn't there the option to also get your receipt emailed to you, in addition to the physical one?
I don't think I was ever asked.
Best Buy can find your purchase by credit card, as well.
Perfect, then should be easy to get back the 80 bucks.
Singular 4TB reds are $200 here, what the fuck.
I paid £125 ($162) or so for a 4TB drive about a month ago, fucking hell I got ripped if 8TB costs that much in the states and I'm already looking at another drive because there is stuff I want ripped but don't want it clogging up the main drive when its not exactly top quality.
Can anyone give me a hand with this "Service Host: Delivery Optimization"? I know it has to do with windows updates, every time I turn on my computer it uses ALL of the bandwidth on my network and refuses to yield for any program, it DEMANDS top priority. I've tried disabling updates, disabling peer to peer connections. I don't want to stop getting updates, but I also don't want to have to open the control panel and shut down the service every 45 minutes to be able use my computer. Anyone dealt with this problem?

Anyone dealt with this problem?

The problem is actually not in sharing the updates, but in the early P2P nature of the Delivery Optimization service used by Windows Update. Even with Delivery Optimization having been told that it's not to share it's updates, it still opens multiple connections to the Windows Update servers. With 10+ connections all trying to use maximal bandwidth, there is barely room for another connection to get a word in edgewise. This is actually why your internet connection seems to quit every time updates are being done. If Microsoft would give users access to the speed controls that they built into Delivery Optimization (See policy DOMaxDownloadBandwidth) users could solve this for themselves. Or if MS forced Delivery Optimization to only open 1 connection to the Microsoft servers, then it would play nicely with others and share the bandwidth when not set to share with the Internet. BITS was better. If you have Win10 Pro or higher you can, through gpedit.msc, tell Delivery Optimization to use BITS instead, but manually setting this on Win10 Home doesn't work.... Come on MS, do you have to go out of your way to cripple the home version everywhere you can?
Constant flirting but not committing to closed ecosystems and having to deal with people never updating sort of fucked them up.
And now people are not updating because they KNOW they'll get fucked over, instead of laziness or a reboot is currently a bad idea for what they're doing.
lol to be honest I do notice this problem at work where I have to reimage computers all day but if I leave it alone for a few hours it settles down and goes away
It feels like every day I am shocked by how shitty some aspect of Windows is. You'd think I'd get used to it but it keeps getting to me because I think after every stupid thing "the next problem can't be as bad as this one" and it's almost always worse. I just find myself screaming "How can Microsoft keep fucking up this much??" internally.
Do people even use the windows store.
Not willingly [sp]much like most of the additions to Windows post-7[/sp]
Do people even use the windows store.
the windows store is one of the best and worst ideas microsoft has had in a while I personally try and grab windows store versions of apps as much as I can because UWP apps don't leave behind crap and contribute to the regular gradual bloat of Windows, so that's great. They're often friendlier on touchscreens and scale better too, which is nice because I switch between a win10 laptop and a convertible tablet regularly. The not great part is that the Windows Store is an example of absolutely disgusting monopoly and i hope microsoft gets sued into the fucking dirt

Though I will say, Windows Subsystem for Linux is pretty superb, even in its current clearly-not-fully-functional-beta state. It actually made Windows a decently viable development platform for me without needing virtual machines or dual booting or etc. I still prefer macOS or even Linux on my main programming machine but it's nice to have the option on my gaming desktop too.
Went to BB, got my refund ~$86. Also thank the gods, they were sold out, so I didn't feel tempted.
