I was waiting for it to see if any version would be replacing the RX580 on the market, but the thing sounds so hot and such a power hog that I'm about to buy a 1060.
Well keep in mind, this really is all heresay right now. It should be coming out in about the next week, no harm in waiting just a week to find out if all this is true.
The $70 rebate I've got on a 1060 ends the day before the Vega launch :v:
Couldn't you just buy the 1060 and not open the package. Then return it if Vega is more tempting? It all depends on the return policy of the store of course.
Appears Kodi is really shit at detecting my newly ripped films and TV shows. God damnit.

In this day and age, video gaming has gone way beyond the passing fad it used to be - think corner arcades from the early 1970s. Computer games are now an intrinsic part of everyday life all over the world and guess what, studies show they're good for you too. Yeah, you heard that right. Computer games help boost memory, increase coordination, improve cognitive thinking, sharpen decision making skills, and reduce stress. Oh, and they're super-fun too, so don't miss out on any of the action. It's game time!
I think Avermedia invented the time machine and accidentally got their installers from the 90s. [t]https://i.imgur.com/HW5mio3.jpg[/t] Is it really necessary to take over my entire fucking screen??
あああ
It is Usb powered and feature quiet motor, I think this is good deal! Just showing off because installer assumes you have nothing else open?

It's still missing some things and needs some changes in the near future, but overall it's more or less done. [t]http://i.imgur.com/IrMlaGZ.jpg[/t]
It's still missing some things and needs some changes in the near future, but overall it's more or less done.
Are the fans just there for being fans or did you consider the way of the airflow too?
Are the fans just there for being fans or did you consider the way of the airflow too?
I considered it but didn't consider it well enough. I kinda wanted the air cooler to be aimed up because I thought the air direction from the motherboard fan goes in, not out and I did know that I can open the top panels of the case for output airflow. After actually shoving it into the case, I'm probably going to rotate it. In my head at the time of installation of the air cooler before the case arrived: hot air naturally goes up and the PSU is at the bottom of the case. [t]http://i.imgur.com/JpPL8mN.jpg[/t] In this picture, it illustrates how it is now. What I'm going to do in the future is rotate the air cooler's output towards the motherboard fan, and add another fan where the blue boxes are (just have to pick it up because NCIX sucks at inventory, it came free with the case) and maybe add some more fans elsewhere i.e. where the 5.25 inch drive bays are, since I don't plan on using both of them. And maybe another at the underside of the case. I think it's ok at this point. I was playing GTA V and barely heard the fans (before I got the case, so CPU and GPU), even after some hours online. Also obviously as expected, everything is louder with the spinning hard drives in action. The case has sound proofing, hard drive caddies and a physical switch for fan control. The side panels can be annoying to install but overall I'm happy with this case. It's much bigger than I thought it was and there's so much space inside to cram shit in. [t]http://i.imgur.com/TsWy3be.jpg[/t] There's also that back panel for cable management. I'll add zip ties after other stuff arrives.

So what is the best way to clean out my fresh Windows 10 Installation? I am talking about Metro Apps and general bloatware.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/IrMlaGZ.jpg[/t]
If you squint enough, it looks like a stack of books on top of that poor GPU. Are you trying to teach it Lambda Calculus?
You can’t just place a LISP book on top of an x86 chip and hope that the hardware learns about lambda calculus by osmosis.
other great quotes
Listen: I’m not saying that other kinds of computer people are useless.
So what is the best way to clean out my fresh Windows 10 Installation? [editline]28th July 2017[/editline] Make sure to always open the files in an editor first though, there might be options you can/have to set
name it correctly :P
Works for films, but seems to hate British TV Shows.
https://www.filebot.net/
Yeah that is going to be a must once I get round to my Doctor Who and Simpsons stuff. Think I've cracked it now though.
Hey they kinda sorta realized how to do thermal paste.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/JpPL8mN.jpg[/t]
Do most modern components even get hot enough to worry about installing more than 2 case fans the only fans I have installed on my computer are the intake fans on my AIO cooler and even that's enough to keep it cool enough inside that the GTX1070 hardly spins up
oddly satisfying and the music too
Holy FUCK that chip is Pentium Pro level massive. Ran into them a few times at my job, I spent far too long being amused by it the first couple times :v:
I think all their server chips are lga, I remember seeing I think Opteron chips a couple times.

Installed Arch on my laptop today. Got Windows dual booted so I'm gonna leave it console only so I can [del]hack people better[/del] see what that's like. Probably get really nice battery life if I can get bumblebee working. Currently it's like 2 hours on discrete. w3m is a nice browser.
i really want to justify the money to buy a nice home server for offloading work onto but EC2 is so cheap no reason to buy 128GB of RAM for $1000 for burst processing if i can just rent it for $1 an hour
