12V@40A is 480W. That's not enough for your build.
450W works fine with my 6600K+32GB DRR4+2 SSDs+GTX 1070, the most it's ever pulled at load is like 330W
Micro-ATX is where it's at.
Small, yet still flexible enough for upgrading or special purpose usage.
Cool kids use BTX.
[sp]and end up having to either build their own case or cut holes in their existing one for two slot graphics cards.[/sp]
so for the first time i've tried to replace thermal paste on a gpu, and it's working so far. Enjoy some nudes

After about 6 hours of off and on banging my head against that wall my server can catch fire for all I care
[editline]6th July 2017[/editline]
you only need to set up three separate things (and two web servers, one django and one apache) to get that to work

I just use telegraf + influxdb + grafana
not only does is telegraf fetching shit from wmi/win_perf_counters (because windows), but it's also fetching form my nginx webserver.
also just loaded telegraf onto my main pc. They both share the same telegraf database in influxdb, and measurements use the same key terms. But since tags are really great, it uses the hostname as it's tag.
Using a variable on the hostname tag, I implemented a quick switch on that variable, using the same dashboard for multiple computers.
since telegraf is written in Go, it just works.
I only started using grafana about last week, but I could probably deploy these two to a computer within about 10-15 minutes now

I should fix that H drive, it's just a ghost on the system

DTX or bust
i regret falling for the miniITX meme
It doesn't save a single inch of space at my desk because it gets shoved under it and the PC is still a complete brick because it's filled to the brim with radiators and heatsink
Could have just bought a T7600 and had 16 cores and 128GB RAM instead for the price, I don't think I'll ever build a PC again
Plus temps. It's a bitch to keep my 970 below 85 degrees under any load because mini ITX. On my old big Corsair case it topped out at 60-70.

The cases [sp]hurr[/sp] where the components isn't getting cooked usually involves one of those closed-loop CPU watercoolers with the radiator in the front, and a mesh sidepanel right next to the GPU so its intake air is "fresh" air from the outside.

Yeah, I don't have any of that, this is the case I have (ASRock M8):

Though I at least swapped the fans around so that it didn't have that fucky push/pull configuration on the top and bottom sides.
It's a damn good case/barebones otherwise though. Half of the problem is that the stock Nvidia/AMD blower coolers typically do a bit better in this form factor than the open-air coolers like my eVGA ACX 2.0 970 that end up recycling a lot of the hot air in the case. But then again that's why I fucked with the fans.

Yeah no, 480 should be fine.

Yes please. DTX OP.
HA. HA HA HA.
I found the ONE corner of the office that I get signal in.
I will bribe the owner of that corner office to allow me to put a repeater antenna on their window.
I'm stupid. I was going to buy two 8TB drives for my server. Then I realized I've been waiting to get new glasses for like 2 years. I'm on the same pair for the past 6 years I think. That is more important I think.

Get glasses. I'm in a similar place. Just get the glasses.
The glasses cost about as much. I like oakley frames.

That's pretty gross, man.
That's pretty gross, man.
All the glasses I own were Oakley. Even in my avatar.
I've got like 20/25 vision but I still feel like I need glasses to read shit at a distance
I have Enzzo 1353 green frames with photochromic lenses.
I feel like Luxottica wanted to call them Enzo but couldn't because of trademark.
I can focus on things up to 15cm away on a good day without glasses.
This is what I see without glasses from a normal viewing distance.

I'm the opposite, I can see stuff up close well, far better than my peers, even. Oh but I can't make out anything 10 meters ahead of me. Signs are a nightmare for me.

I meant it as in 15 cm is as far as I can focus. Everything past 15 cm is blobs. < 15cm is fine.

Oh, yeah then I'm basically the same.
I have pretty weak glasses (0.75 and 0.5 last on my current 4 year old glasses) but I don't wear them often. I put them on on a concert a few weeks ago and it was like in super HD, I could even see the faces on the stage.
Still don't wear them unless I am driving. Can't see shit in the dark, especially when I am moving. Bicycling by my friends from a meter or so and I could not distinguish them made me think of my vision for a while.
I had a lazy eye growing up so even though its no longer obvious, one eye is vastly predominant over the other, and they don't exactly line up so I can't really see depth very well without glasses. One of my lenses is mostly there for show, the other is almost a cm deep.
Interestingly, I stopped wearing them for a few years and I drove just fine without glasses. Since I didn't truly need them as the sharpness is there (if anything, I can see just as well near and far as everyone else), just depth is wonky. However, you learn to figure out depth with monocular cues and its mostly fine.
However once I got my 21 license, they decided "nope, you need glasses" after an eye test. And now I'm legally required to wear them. I guess depth is better so there's no reason not to wear them, its just I feel like they think I'm legally blind.
Speaking of which, I need a new prescription. 4 years is a pretty long time.
Yeah without my glasses things look a lot like this

You guys should get out more often

I've got light blue eyes, going outside without sunglasses is actual torture. Just glare everywhere.

Let's be real, I highly doubt genetics is the dominant reason why a ton of people have bad eyesight in a thread full of computer loving nerds.

I was born blind. Sure as shit is the reason for me.
