Probably lubuntu.
Just.
I was thinking a basic Debian install with LXDE or something.
Think I'm gonna have to time the eventual upgrade from 1080p60 to 1440p144 to arrive on a friday so I have the weekend to masturbate myself to death moving windows around.
Although monitors are heavy and I'm not really looking forward to carrying that shit 30 minutes home from work. What if my arms are too weak after that for full enjoyment?
I wanted to cool looking knife to open stuff oncamera for some future videos.
I'm not going to buy a box cutter lmao
More or less same shit.
Dunno if I wanna save up for Vega + Ryzen 7 or Ryzen 7 + GTX 1070 like my original plan was.
Since Vega has dropped and the prices have been revealed I'm quite interested in Vega 64 or even the 56 model...
Hmmm...
vega 64 is releasing in only bundles so it should lower the price of a new motherboard/ryzen cpu + monitor if you get the 64 (i think 100 dollars each?)
it's to combat cryptomining apparently
not sure if im happy about it or not
I was thinking a basic Debian install with LXDE or something.
Most linux distros these days are simply far too heavy to be practical on old hardware anymore.
I'm pretty interested in Vega myself, I just hope I can actually get one when it's released. I'd be interested in picking up a Vega 64, but if it's out of stock for 3 months I might as well just pick up a 1080...

I'm not one of those types of people. I'm offended you think so.

But then how will everyone know you have a cool knife?
I'm being bullied.
Kiwi plz
I'll show you bullying, you wonderful person.

Imagine going full AMD, saying that I will be this September if all goes well.
I can make it to black friday I swear, I'm gonna hold out
[editline]31st July 2017[/editline]
If this spare PSU I'm running on dies before then though I'm just gonna say fuck it and do my upgrade now
Black Friday is a looong way away :(
just put it on credit :^)
just put it on credit :^)
I made that mistake lmao.
But hey, I have my own apartment now that I can afford to pay plus the debt from the CC.
Today I get my signing bonus, but was told my contract doesn't actually end today, just that the 60days was sort of a proving. I can let it run longer if I want. But I told em I'm looking to be signed on as an employee.
The signing bonus is weird when I'm not signing anything.
I got a $2.25 raise over the last two weeks, we'll see how these new paychecks are.
I have double rent for the next 2 months so no black Friday sales for me. Guess I'll have some good numbers to compare for Vega by the time I'm upgrading. Maybe a Vega 64 Lightning will be out by then.
Ugh, only got one or two paychecks left before this summer internship ends :(
I want to justify buying an R5 but my i5's internal mayo hasn't gone bad yet.
Uhhhhhhh nope Vega 64 is standalone. It's the liquid version thats not.

The bundle is still available for the aircooled cards though, which should help availability if nothing else. A vega+ryzen bundle effectively costs the same as buying them separately with two games thrown in, so it's not the greatest otherwise.
Oh look a double post

quick make a wish!

1920x1080 at 4:3 is gross
I was promised a big raise after I graduated, but that's not happening until the end of the fiscal year. So basically in 2 months if I'm looking for a new job, you all know why.
And until then I have to pay for wedding shit, so probably no black friday shopping for me. :( Which sucks because I want to scrap my shitty 3 monitor setup and just buy a large and high quality USB-C capable monitor.

I actually just got approved for my first credit card, I'm feeling so adult right now
[editline]31st July 2017[/editline]
It's secured though (basically you have to put up the credit limit as collateral) so I'm pretty much spending my money anyway :v:
I've had a credit card from my bank for like...4 years? now. I use it to pay all my bills.
I don't even have a credit card. Debit all the way.
Yet to have a credit card.
Debit master race.
But I might finance my upgrade just cause my income is regular now and it's pretty constant.
With how I plan to use it (pay off full balance every month), it's basically going to be a debit card with more protections as it doesn't give direct access to my bank account
Plus it starts building up credit for when I eventually want to buy a car or home

Yeah I finally got around to getting one of those a few months ago, made my credit score shoot up by 100 points so that's nice.
