Debit is the way to go. I haven't touched any of my cards in a year and since I was financially reckless I've barely been able to put a dent in my cards.
Still nice to completely forget about the credit cards and live off debit only while paying the cards off, though. On the plus side my credit score has skyrocketed due to no additional balance and reliable payment.
I got my first credit card in august of last year at 26. Now a year later I have about 8000$ in credit with 3 cards and a 740 credit score.
I got screwed on an apartment lease with some shitty roommates so I owe like $3000, which of course wrecks my credit. Especially since I can't seem to get a hold of the people who want my money to pay them.
Yet to have a credit card.
Debit master race.
But I might finance my upgrade just cause my income is regular now and it's pretty constant.

I don't even have a credit card. Debit all the way.
Woo, debit card master race.
I literally owe nothing to anyone. Student loans paid off years ago. Bought my car cash. I'm renting a house, so no mortgage. I think there's like three people I've promised a lunch in return for favors, but that's seriously the biggest debt I have.
I also have a fairly ridiculous amount of money in my checking account, given my income... it got me through some income instability though, so I think I like having a big buffer like that.
There's got to be some form of modern linux that can run on that thing. My "current" laptop is an old G4 ibook and it runs Ubuntu Mate just fine.
Wary Puppy 5.5 works alright on this, newer versions of Puppy Linux give me issues though.
I have no idea if any you guys have interest in HAM/shortwave radio hobbies, but I guess this counts as computers. Maybe.

Currently the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico is conducting an ionospheric heating research session. Think HAARP. (and no, I'm not talking about the conspiritard version of HAARP.)
http://www.arrl.org/news/arecibo-observatory-ionospheric-heating-campaign-under-way
The reception range is massive, and I in south west Ohio with a dinky handcrank shortwave radio can receive it in my noisy, half-Faraday cage house.
If there's anyone with capable equipment and an interest in radio, I suggest checking this out on your own equipment. It's one thing to hear it on a WebSDR, but a whole different kind of magic to hear it coming out of your own hardware. 5125 KHz USB mode, or whatever mode you feel is appropriate.
Edit: And of course soon after I post this, it's over. Oh well. Might start transmitting again at some point between now and the end of the month.
Well unfortunately I think you're right and they just skipped July 31st, can't hear anything in that area with my equipment.
i plan on getting my first CC when i graduate and get a dope job. i'll probably just throw all my bills on it and slowly use it for other things as i get more comfortable using it
Dunno if I wanna save up for Vega + Ryzen 7 or Ryzen 7 + GTX 1070 like my original plan was.
Since Vega has dropped and the prices have been revealed I'm quite interested in Vega 64 or even the 56 model...
Hmmm...
I'm currently on the boat of, I'm totally ok with spending less money on an AMD Vega equivalent of a 1080 or 1080 Ti, or even a 1070 equivalent if it means paying significantly less. The only issue is that I doubt I'd be able to actually get my hands on one and/or be able to buy one in Canada before the return period ends on the 1080 Ti I already have.
I also saw that AMD Ryzen Threadripper launch, although that's effectively a 3x more expensive CPU than the Ryzen 7 1700 I just got. I'd also need a new motherboard and probably PSU to support all of this.
I mean if it reduces the prices of the Ryzen 7 1700 and 1080 Ti in some way, and I can get a price match, I'd do it. I'm relatively happy with my current build.
Thread ripper more like panty ripper.
I mean think of how much stuff you can rip with 16 cores and 32 threads!
both Threadripper and EPYC are really bad names, worst part about Zen so far. :(
both Threadripper and EPYC are really bad names, worst part about Zen so far. :(
But Threadripper is an awesome name!
EPYC though I agree with. Should have stayed with the Opteron brand if it had no bad blood on it.

I dunno, they both sound like they're trying to appeal to a middle-school demographic to me. And yeah, if only they could have stuck with Opteron. But there's no way they could have at this point and that's okay.

Slacko Puppy should work well and is fairly recent. Actually ran it on a laptop with 256mb RAM and a shitty Celeron. SliTaz also works amazingly, but the community isn't as big as Puppy's. Actually just stuck another 256mb in and am installing Lubuntu right now, but here's the distros that worked for me:
SliTaz
Slacko Puppy
Lucid Puppy
ToriOS
DebianDog
TinyCore
Of course, old distros like DSL and Feather Linux work, but not worth using at this point.
Arch is only using like 120 MB right now.

Should run on anything.

DSL wouldn't even really work on my Toshiba with GUI. I guess 16mb RAM is just too little.

You guys really should get a credit card just for the sake of building your credit history.
Credit cards are not an issue as long as you have some common sense in personal finances, and if you spend it just like your debit card without ever apply the logic of 'i'll worry about paying this back later".

Credit history simply isn't something that matters to me. First of all I'm currently in Australia, and here credit is far, far less important than it is in the US. It is taken far less seriously. But it is definitely a nice thing to have. Just not necessary.
Second being, I'm not going to be here forever. Kinda going to be getting married and move to the US in due time, and credit history for me will not carry over, and then I'm going to be on the whims of my partners credit history while I then have to build up my own (But hers is good so that's no issue).

I would have a credit card because of the other benefits you get out of it such as:
-extended warranty on your purchases
-protection over fraudulent charges (debit card doesn't seem to really protect you as much)
-purchase protection, think of eBay's Buyer Protection
-points for travel, rewards, etc. (if you get a card for that)
-travel insurance (if you get a travel card)
As said before, just don't be dumb with spending, keep tabs on your credit card bill, etc.

16mb is the minimum for it to run X, but 24mb is recommended. I've never tried it on anything less than 64 (in a VM) myself. There's always BasicLinux for super old hardware, could probably stick Links2 on there.

ESP8266 connected to WiFi, connected to the Internet, that is instructing a separate board to draw 64*64 pixel grid on a TV.
And you can draw by sending simple GET requests.
(I made a script that draws the Finnish flag)
Edit: I think it died. RIP.
Edit2: It's alive.

Got rid of the laptop a year or so ago. Don't even have a USB Floppy drive anymore anyways to write the OS to since it's the only thing the laptop can boot from.
Everyone treats Credit Cards like a big boogeyman but really if you're responsible and don't spend past your means they're totally fine and a very useful financial tool.
Thread ripper more like panty ripper.
Seeing red, everytime.
I've watched enough children's TV shows doing episodes on borrowing money and credit cards during my childhood to know how to use common sense with them.
"common sense"
Yeah nah LOL
What do you mean?
Also yeah building credit is pretty important. You don't want to be thirty and applying for a house loan just to hear "yeah we're not going to give you the loan because you have no credit history".

Bonus points if you change the episode code to the twitter status #.
Bonus points if you change the episode code to the twitter status #.
That's pretty easy to do, I just used the date because that's what the picture that gave me the inspiration used.
That's pretty easy to do, I just used the date because that's what the picture that gave me the inspiration used.
Well yeah, I figured, but if you switch it to the status ID then you'd have all the information you need to pull up the tweet on Twitter right there.
IDK I never watched Eva so it's probably not stylistically the same with the status ID, just figured it might make more sense since that way every tweet you pull up has a unique "episode ID".
Probably thinking too much about something you probably whipped up in a half hour though :v:
