Ran a stress test all night and it seems to be fine now. I guess it really was just some software doing it.
It's crazy that like 1.2% of the sun is enough to light up the sky
I slept through mine.
It was only partial, I didn't even notice it get any darker then normal.
it was like walking around with dark sunglasses
99% of totality is neat but kinda meh, 100% is apparently mind blowing

I was really underwhelmed. I mean it was cool to actually look at, but Christ it was so bright outside still. It basically went from "need sunglasses" to "sunglasses could be nice, I guess". Just goes to show how bright our sun actually is

Yep, I'm down here on 16th street all day and it wasn't even dusk. My boss took the day off to go to Casper but I couldn't
Everyone left town to head down to Salem, prineville and madras, oregon so the "worst traffic event" in the history of Oregon turned into the smoothest Friday and weekend traffic anyone's seen around here in years. Today will probably be pretty bad though. Within a half hour of the eclipse ending all the freeways turned into deadlock :v:
I couldn't get today off so I couldn't go, but I would have had to sleep in my car probably anyways.
Traffic was still bad here this morning. And I was even going South, the opposite way of the total.
We got like 87% totality here, it was pretty dark, but still not crazy-dark. Enough for the animals to get confused - the dawn/dusk birds started chirping and foraging, and the cat decided to come in early.
I really want to see a total eclipse now, though.
A bunch of dragonflies parked on the concrete next to us and it got waaaay comfortable temp wise. We were about 97% eclipsed. Got some neat pics though through the glasses.
i'm still in baguette land so I missed out on the solar eclipse :(
My company just announced our 4k60 card. And my support Tweetdeck is a mess with all the gifs and memes.

Razer just dropped the 13.3" 512GB Blade Stealth by $250 in a sale. fak
I got dragged into a Facebook group for a wedding party since I'm officiating a friend's wedding...
The maid of honor doesn't know the word "introduced" :speechless:
Hooray for people "discovering" new requirements literally as the software is being deployed to production.
And a bigger, less sarcastic hooray for contracts written with strict controls on when altering requirements is allowed, so they have to pay me to make the change.

At least return policies exist. Take advantage of it after the event.

I'm in the process of buying an XPS 15 from Dell. So...
EVGA P2 has a higher rating for build quality on jonnyguru by a full point and I'd rather deal with EVGA for warranty. And unless you're running a triple GPU setup a 1050w is just a waste of money.
OK but if you looked at the review, the point was deducted due to the manual being a "step down" and the price being steep.
their own words about build quality of the snow silent
"Build Quality (20% of the final score) - I have no complaints at all here, for the innards looked flawless. 10"
what are you talking about and can you give a link to where it didn't get rated a 10?

I'd still take an XPS 15 over a Razor Blade Stealth even with $250 off tbh

Ah, I was looking at the Platinum, not the snow silent. I'd still go with the EVGA for the warranty honestly.

Literally just a couple lines up in that review too
But... EVGA has everybody's number again, with not one but two Platinum units listed for less money than this unit. The cheaper one is the Super Flower based one, naturally... the one company Seasonic has the most to be worried about.
Oh damn.

This thing feels like a brick, you could kill someone with it.
Called dell. Talked to Chayah, a clearly indian woman putting on a decent american accent. Got the hold removed. Hopefully it comes Wednesday.

Why the hell do they want to verify your identity after you paid? Creditcards?
I opened a credit account with them for interest free financing. but I was already approved for the credit, only after I ordered they said "hmm, hold up."

Messed with the bios at all yet?

Yeah, I've poked around a bit.
What in particular are you wondering about?
The UI isn't the best I've ever seen but it does the job.
As far as the board itself, no real issues.
The LEDs are a bit silly and I didn't buy it for them but I guess it's a nice to have if I ever decide to go full riceroni. :v:
This was my first actual AMD build by the way so it's fun learning how things differ from the Intel counterparts.
INSTALLING THE COOLER WAS SO FUCKING EASY I CAN'T GET OVER IT.
I was a little miffed that I had to remove the installed brackets on my board to install the stock amd cooler on mine
