So my friend got a job offer to move out here but they do the organizational equivalent of dumping all the tickets on a table and whoever can grab what they want. Turned that shit down.
I was a little miffed that I had to remove the installed brackets on my board to install the stock amd cooler on mine
I had to as well but it was basically a non-issue
Yeah, I've poked around a bit. What in particular are you wondering about? The UI isn't the best I've ever seen but it does the job. As far as the board itself, no real issues. The LEDs are a bit silly and I didn't buy it for them but I guess it's a nice to have if I ever decide to go full riceroni. :v: This was my first actual AMD build by the way so it's fun learning how things differ from the Intel counterparts. INSTALLING THE COOLER WAS SO FUCKING EASY I CAN'T GET OVER IT.
For me its mostly the overclocking side, I know 350 boards tend to only give you offsets instead of actual full control which is left for the 370 boards, was mostly interested in just how well its laid out as uefi bios' can be a bit of a clusterfuck.
So my dropped frames and upload issues were only starting when we switched to the new Extreme 150 tier. With the new modem we're getting much faster speeds, like 180/25. But I talked to comcast asking if they can check any routing issues to Twitch.TV/Justin.TV. Even listed it was specifically this one ingest-proxy-edge-asiJDISnd something address I was streaming to and dropping packets at like 10% of my upload. ... It *only* started when we upgraded the provisioning on our plan. Our modem is on brand new RG6 to an outside RG11 cable directly to the street box. no splitter, amp, anything. Our signal and noise is perfect. Edit: It's because they saw my modem was offline.... They were looking at the old one. :vs:
Update. It turns out it's ASUS's Aura software doing it. I had it set to Temperature and every time it tried changing the light color from different temps it would hang the entire machine. Good fucking job.
How exactly would that go? Helpdesk "You busy this morning?" Me "Not really, about to get to the office" Helpdesk "Well that's good, one of your clients have crypto" Me "*cough*I think I'm coming down with something I'm out sick today*cough*"
Yes, that's exactly how it would go.
Prepare for the technician to blab his mouth off that service issues is due to not using ISP issued hardware.
The agent I spoke to said they were also planning on buying the MB8600, "It's really a great model" It's a shame that -LD no longer was available :( They were great.
Got a iPhone SE on finance. 128gb model plus plan. $80 a month which is pretty much what I pay now currently just in data. :excited:
That is very expensive.... [editline]22nd August 2017[/editline] Oh wait, NZD. Still, that seems top end of paying.
Budget Android phones have both never been this good, and have never been this fucking unavailable. It seems like they only sell the damn things in India and China. Then you get the shitty start-ups that try to sell a phone in Europe for 400€ and the company disappears after a year and you're running an Android version released in 2011.
How's fb2k on iOS? Last time I used the Android version it had some ux issues but that looks more polished to me
Try Shuttle on Android, it's been working out for me.
So I bought a $10 banggood power supply, supposedly rated for 24v 3A I was expecting shit but my god I wasn't expecting this :v: [t]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-mL1VvxupD6M/WZwGPot4XkI/AAAAAAAAQuw/1zJ1-m4ks9U25hkPf4sBDBogs4IP2s5uACHMYCw/s0/2017-08-22_20-23-57.jpg[/t] ☑ At least 50% wasted space ☑ Grounded socket with nothing connected to earth ☑ Teeny tiny rectifier ☑ Wires rated for half of what the sticker says ☑ Board has actually been salvaged from something else ☑ Entire thing weighs less than the AC cable it came with I think it was worth it's price just from the entertainment I got laughing at it
to be fair it depends on what you buy, I also got this soldering iron [t]https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-3B-3zj1qy90/WZwKroeeOWI/AAAAAAAAQu8/t_C1MKiAh5YecJBzYnTHhM0Wut3CliV-QCHMYCw/s0/2017-08-22_20-42-46.png[/t] AU$60 and it feels really damn nice to use. Temperature control, OLED screen, 12-24v DC in And when I plugged it into that garbage power supply it just automatically dropped back into standby instead of trying to pull 65w through and blow it up :v:
yikes And I'm thinking of purchasing a cheap projector from bang good too lmao
Why would you get one of those projectors? They are all terrible and are basically what used to be sold in the white van scams along with shitty speakers.
Get a secondhand projector, those are cheap as fuck because people realize buying bulbs sucks. Hell, even LED ones are on the second hand market by now.

Call me late or something, but I discovered there was a "Linus" : http://www.oldcomputers.net/linus.html I wonder if TechTips knows about it.
The TS100 really does look ace, but it bothered me how expensive and proprietary the tips are I wonder if they'll eventually come out with a hakko adapter
AFAIK the tips are just shortened knockoff T12s Doesn't look like there's anything physically stopping you shoving a hakko tip into it, dunno if it'll work properly though Besides they're still cheaper than genuine Hakko ones :v:

Everything's just split across across CPU specific OCing settings, memory specific, advanced voltage control, etc. I haven't tried OCing yet because I don't feel like wasting time stress testing for it, especially knowing my usual piss-poor luck in the silicon lottery :v: But in theory I can basically just go to CPU settings and up the ratio to 37 and be happy.
Get a secondhand projector, those are cheap as fuck because people realize buying bulbs sucks. Hell, even LED ones are on the second hand market by now.
Have you ever looked at the used electronics market in NZ?

Yes and no. A proper double-insulated device doesn't need an earth connection, but this thing has an IEC connector and is almost certainly not up to spec.
Uh, are there supposed to be flashing green pixels on the setup screen? [t]https://i.imgur.com/ZJDb4nc.jpg[/t] Excuse the shitty picture, it doesn't show up in screenshots. I may have to talk with ASUS about this because I think I may have a slightly faulty board. It's rock-solid stable unless I mess with Aura. [editline]22nd August 2017[/editline] False alarm...my monitor cable wasn't in all the way. :hurr:

It is completely filled with green pixels, constantly changing positions. If it's that easy to fix, might tell them.
Voltage controls for Vega were enabled (fixed?) in the latest Radeon drivers, the initial findings have been very interesting, it's looking like Vega is severely overvolted. Once the absurd voltages are lowered Vega becomes much more efficient, several people have got running stable at 1050mV with a 1600MHz OC, power draw is also significantly reduced.
Sounds like maybe they're trying to counter bad yields, just a little hamfisted-ly? Next question here is how much does this help heat?

I get that there's a heat transfer and capacity advantage in having an integrated heater, but it'd be annoying if they stopped making them 5 years down the line so you had to chuck the entire thing. (It's just really a matter of keeping a stockpile big enough to last the useful life of the iron though).
Laptop shipped. Woo.
Scratch mentioned foobar2k iOS and I checked it out. :excited: this is amazing! :excited:
