Who in their right mind would ever buy a Core i9 for VR ?
[editline]9th July 2017[/editline]
I'm pretty sure a high-end i7 will perform near the same since most games don't advantage of more than 2-4 cores lmao.
But muh 10 cores tho!

Am I missing something? "Muh" seems like internet slang and not a meme?
Am I missing something? "Muh" seems like internet slang and not a meme?
It's a shit meme and it's been bannable for ages.
It's from 4chan and it's a meme. Pretty simple.
Going to have to think of a better excuse since it pre-dates 4chan
Jesus fucking christ this motherboard, the pain never ends! It will randomly reboot (power cut out and then restarts) after 30 mins to 2 hours after a cold boot, and it always corrupts configs n shit!
Other issues with it includes it can't handle matching RAM sticks, suspend causes the cmos to get corrupted and you can't boot, fan control doesn't work and some sensors are dead.
The day I get enough money to replace this junk is the day there will be a burning motherboard outside my house!
Years ago when one of my friends got an excessively beefy UPS so we loaded it, a TV and an N64 in my car and dragged everything out into the woods to play Mario Kart in the middle of nowhere. :v:
Part of me is curious to see if your time playing using the N64 would of been longer if you used an LCD rather than a CRT but I suppose it would look horrible on an LCD unless you used an emulator (Which defeats the point).

If those are the criteria for banworthiness, why aren't you banned?
But seriously though, the meme shit gets old quick, I'm happy this place has rules against that shit.
Just bring back smartness, then we can be grammar nazis too :fp:
I haven't touched CSS since 3 days ago, and I've barely touched HTML. Somehow in 3 days I've managed to learn both well enough to build an actually not so ugly and quite functional website. I'm rather proud of myself. Don't open unless you're in a full screen browser in 1080p.

Pretty much like me then, I decided to make myself a new website from scratch only to find that parts of the PHP I had learned years ago are now depreciated, still I got there eventually.
Snip, I'm retarded AND blind.

It's not responsive properly :disgust:
[sp]thats okay, mine is hardcoded to 1080p :v:[/sp]
Shiny new ultra-widescreen monitor arrived DOA today.

This shit gives me so much anxiety about buying monitors online. (That and two of the 3 monitors I've bought online have had dead pixels/some such fault.)

Buying from a good store helps with returns, and also buying a good brand.
As for the dead pixel stuff, that's more on the manufacturer. Dell famously sent me THREE U3011's with like 5-6 stuck pixels each. With overnight replacements each time. Ended up returning them all for a full refund. They spent so much money on me.
I guess I kind of forgot that I had work buy 3 P2717H's for me (from Amazon of all places) and they're all fine. So not always awful buying online.

Yeah getting it to work nicely across all configurations and browsers is a nightmare, probably one of the main reasons I never considered making a job of web development, well that and the fact I have almost zero artistic skill.
I'm just scared of buying expensive shit online anyways. I've been burned with motherboards and monitors being defective out of the box.
I'd rather go into a store and pay the difference (Memory Express price matches Newegg) just so if something is defective, I can waste an hour of my time replacing the part versus online which can be 1-4 weeks.
Bought that rack last week. Was supposed to be delivered yesterday, then at 8pm my tracking just gave a big warning symbol and later updated to say "if it's not delivered by friday, let us know"

How you know you're dealing with Real Enterprise-Grade Software:
The provided example code doesn't compile
The provided example code contains // TODO: implement this
The provided example code looks like C even though it's written in C#.NET
You're only looking at the provided example code because they fucked up a perfectly good dll importer so they could put DRM on it
Went to a dentist appointment. 3 other adults are in the house. They go to deliver my rack to the front door. Knocks. No one hears it due to the screaming kids. They leave a note. I can pick it up on thursday.

I like to think buying from Amazon is a safe bet for monitors. My TV/Monitor combo came from there and its been running fine for nearly four years now.
I've bought monitors on AMazon, everything was fine.
I bought a monitor from monoprice 3~ years ago and don't have any issues with it, knock on wood.
I've only ever bought monitors online, all shipped with our awful postal service, still no problems with any of them. Who even buys tech in store anymore

Atleast Amazon Returns are great. Money back in your account an hour after it's scanned shipped.
Which is tomorrow, after prime day....
Waiting on £450 or so on refunds from Amazon and Ebuyer so I can't afford any of the Prime Day shit I want.
The Asus VG248QE has been serving me well for the past while. Pretty standard choice amongst 144hz monitors, but when I bought it, it came with DOOM (2016) for free, so I wasn't complaining. Lol

I'm kind of in the same boat but for different reasons... that $700 in my checking account looks like a fat wad to spend on stupid shit, but it disappears quick once car payment and other bills process. :surrender:
I'm waiting on ~830$ worth of Holds to clear on my card from my RMA on the Pixel XL. So don't want to spend much else. Got the things I really wanted this month, so I'm good.
