I got ones from 2006, 2010, and 2015 (what I'm using now) and they're nothing to brag about when it comes to quality, but they are affordable for the hardware they have inside them.
Their battery life is also abysmal.

I went from a 2009 Dell to 2012 Asus laptop to a 2016 Acer Chromebook. Man is new tech so nice. Admittedly it isnt the fastest and most powerful thing but its got a good screen, fantastic battery life (my Asus and Dell had less than 2 hours battery life brand new), and doesn't outweigh a brick.
Its even decently powerful for a chromebook: Celeron N3150 and 4GB of RAM.

2011 Dell to 2014 MacBook Air, it's served well enough for what I need. I'll probably pick up an XPS 15 or some Ryzen laptop if they're out this time next year.

Is getting the 1050 and big battery worth throwing away that 2.5" drive slot though? my plan would be to get some SSDs and slap em on both slots, I think the default Dell M.2 is 32GB or something

Without a doubt, yes.
2.5" slots are worthless in laptops nowadays, especially for thin form-factor laptops.

My second FB account just got disabled. As in, my last one got disabled a little over 2 years ago and a new one on a new email just got disabled for seemingly no reason.
Sad that's my main way of contacting other people, including friends and parents. Also, going to university, a lot of things are shared on FB...

They removed my account because I used an alias as my name.
Their policy is to use your name so people can identify you. Doesn't really apply to me because really everyone outside my parents don't even use my name.
Facebook is a genuinely frightening and repulsive entity.
My friend literally photoshopped a fake name name onto his drivers license, sent it to facebook and they unblocked his account :v:
I imagine they have so many complaints to deal with daily they give the fewest of fucks to checking that stuff

I've had an account with a fake name for many years, been blocked a couple of times where they've made me identify people on my friend list, but they haven't required any proof.
