US businesses don't have to present a VAT ID fortunately...
Sounds like the voice of experience for you though...
Nah, I actually work in IT, I just know that I'd probably get a dude fired if he scammed Cisco out of a sample, mostly because then Cisco won't give me one, but give me his details in order to check up on it. And even if you didn't provide a VAT ID, they'll cold call your company and ask when you want to change your infrastructure over, if you miss that call and it goes to the wrong person you might still be hosed.
I generally wouldn't act on behalf of my employer without authorization, it's not a healthy thing to do.

I thought you dug up an old computer or something until I noticed you literally installed this on a i5 machine

Sorry dude, but the stupid paperweights aren't worth losing your job over. I thought about flashing OpenWRT on one but with the more current FW it's just a hassle.

Lmao you give Cisco way too much credit. Several people at my old company got them and they just call the number you provide, which logically should be your cell. Hell I got 2.
IDK, we tried to get two and they told my colleague he can't have one and then sent one anyway a few weeks later. They did coldcall my company once just asking for me by name via the number listed on our website.

I miss the damn A E S T H T E I C S way to much. Something about the simple grey theme and actual somewhat consistent icons are just so loveable to me.
So it turns out PC2-5300 ram is waaaaaayy too slow to run a Unifi Video server. Thanks everyone with purchasing power for ignoring the hardware requirements I gave you.
Edit: Everyone also keeps complaining about how slow the video feed is, well thats what you get when your upload bandwidth is 500kbps and you refuse to upgrade your 15 year old residential internet plan to a modern business internet plan.

Corporate executives baffled and angered that machine designed way under-spec isn't capable of running smoothly in desired use case.

You should see my edit then ;)
Luckily the people complaining about the video server being shit aren't the same people who managed to unplug the switch that all the EFTPOS equipment is plugged into when I went on vacation.
Does anybody have a nice recommendation for a router/switch to extend my wifi coverage to the living room?
I have a cat5e running there for the smarttv but the wifi is getting spotty there. Smarttv needs a cable connection too, so a switch is required for that.

If you're willing to spend a bit you can get a unifi AC LR or AC lite and just a generic 5 port gigabit switch. Netgear makes some that work well. For a bit cheaper you could get a mikrotik hAP AC lite, but the configuration is a touch more complicated. Once it's set though it's rock solid, and I'd imagine availability is pretty good with you being so close to Latvia where they're based out of.

Check out Mikrotik's offerings, they're a Latvian based company with some cool stuff. But be warned their GUI is confounding. A Mikrotik cAP Lite is definitely something to look at, runs off USB or POE and does Wireless N300.
The hAP AC lite could also work as a switch, which would be pretty nice and cost saving. Over here they're $40.
After the Destiny 2 open beta crashing to desktop twice in 20 minutes (and some how fucking Chrome up the second time) I just uninstalled it
I have a 25/5 connection , is it worth to get 40/10 connection and AC wifi?
As in, gigabit would be supported by most devices bur I don't have a NAS currently for it all.
New question: a setup for a NAS to automatically back up (read only) photos and movies would be an eay setup or no?
I'd like that all laptops in my house upload windows homegroup shared photos to somewhere. Is it easy to set up?

Thats honestly the first I've heard of anyone having any issues.
It's rock fucking solid for me.

You don't really need AC. an N router that can also do 5ghz would be more than enough. Can't really help with a homegroup NAS off the top of my head, my only experience with that is via Active Directory :v:
edit to clarify: 5GHz will get you the best speeds, but once there's more than a wall or 2 between you and the signal 2.4 is ideal

I think most routers support both AC and N since having both a 5GHz and 2.4GHz network is ideal for the home.

They updated their whole website, YouTube is in a bolder font too. Oh and not split up

I didn't know people actually used any full 255 single colors in web design any more, that seems like something someone in a highschool Digital Design class would do :v:

What would happen if you make a array of arrays
then passed that array's reference into the 0th spot
as well as the first
and the second

what are you trying to say exactly?
are you drunk again or something
As I saw, synctoy seems to be a nice app to sync (and so backup) files on different PC-s on the same homegroup between eachother.
Either something like that might work to sync files on all computers in my house (I only need to backup photos pretty much) or what do you think? Is there something similar to that I can use to sync a few folders between computers on a single LAN?
Fucking uBO died on the latest update and now I'm forced into the world of ugly ads again ffs

You'd have a very narcissistic data structure I guess?
