I've been thinking about getting a cat, but besides the fact that I am barely home these days, my main worry is that I get a cat that knocks all my shit on the floor.
So, my Waterforce 1080ti's replacement's replacement has a constant water bubbling noise that is quiet ish, should I raise a concern? The fan also whines like crazy but I can swap that out myself.
Fucking, I can get 3 sides of the vita unlatched but the top part, which is pretty much the gateway to getting it open is pretty tightly shut and I don't have the proper tools for separating it
ayo guys, I'm looking for some advice here I want to spend around 500 bucks on some gaming nerd shit as I have an urge to play something but currently only have a macbook pro One option is to simply buy a new GPU for my currently broken PC (2600k, DDR3). The upside is that I already have games I am dying to play on there but the downside is that I'm going to the military starting October so basically paying 500 bucks to game one month the second option would be to buy a Nintendo Switch or some shit like that which I could take with me to the military. the downside being that it doesn't really have any games I am interested in right now (no shooters and Skyrim&Rocket League not out yet) What do you guys think I should do?
get a used gpu for your 2600k machine

They're wild animals (pretty much), they need stimulation. I think the best price/performance ones right now are the RX 580 and the GTX 1060. Or get a Switch with Puyo Puyo Tetris. That game is ridiculously addictive, if you don't mind looking like a pansy in front of your military mates.
Chinesium keycaps arrived. [t]https://www.helifreak.club/image/IMG_20170901_145042.jpg[/t] Realising that I have not memorised the symbols on the number keys.
Hey that's actually a pretty neat looking mech, clean, media keys, no wank besides RGB I wonder how mu- Sweet tittyfucking christ
all the rx580s and 1060s are either sold out or over 300 dollars fuck my ass The switch platform itself is very tempting but it doesn't really have any games that interest me.. although Splatoon 2 looks somewhat fun. Not very excited about forking over 60 bucks for every game tbqh when on PC I'd just play the ones I have
I'm just trying to find a mechanical keyboard that: >Has white/RGB LEDs >Doesn't look like overdesigned gamer shit >Isn't ducky >I can actually buy in Australia without being reamed by shipping Apparently that's too much to ask :v:

The brown switch variant has white LEDs.

It's an option, though I'm still not a fan because of how needlessly huge they are It bugs me because Ducky keyboards are literally 100% what I'm after But both I've bought (Shine 3, Shine 5) has had quality control issues out the ass, the LEDs won't last more than 6 months before they start dying [editline]1st September 2017[/editline] I wouldn't mind having to constantly RMA them if it didn't cost me $30 in shipping fees every time :v:

Not the cheapest tbh, but at least with shipping included you don't get reamed on it :v:
WASD?
Looked at them last time, once you add exchange rates and shipping you still end up paying ~$200 for a plain backlit keyboard
Your best option is probably to move somewhere that's not 5000+ miles from civilization [editline]1st September 2017[/editline] The last criteria is really the one that's going to kill you :v:

Especially with a backlit keyboard. That defeats the entire point of lighting your keys.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/kHZY5Bq.png[/t] this project isn't even that involved like wtf
probably not that unreasonable since my laptop isn't built for video editing, but i managed to achieve this through motion graphic work in after effects.
wtf why would you measure computer temperatures in fahrenheit

bought a gtx1060. should do me fine for the month of gaming time I have now the only problem is getting my computer which has been collecting dust for the past 1.5 year to working order again
bought a gtx1060. should do me fine for the month of gaming time I have now the only problem is getting my computer which has been collecting dust for the past 1.5 year to working order again
i'll buy it from you for 200€ in the end of september, you can drop it off with some of my friends on ttü campus, thanks. that'd mean I'd have to move my PC to Tartu tho, don't really have a lot of room for a setup here. Don't know how I'll manage yet. Currently using my sisters old laptop that doesn't really like to be moved. The chassis bends so much from the hinges that it may arc in the power plug somehow. In other lazy things: I installed VNC on this laptop just so I could put on the next episode without having to step up from the couch every 20min when it is connected to the TV. Don't know why I just couldn't put each episode into a playlist before.. Made browsing youtube easier though. [editline]1st September 2017[/editline] if you are near your home, only the first 3 months you won't be seeing your PC, after that, pretty much every other week you'll be home and not have much to do.

I want to bypass the HDCP on a VHS + DVD recorder combo thing so I can record the digital HDMI signal rather than capture composite output. Is bypassing the HDCP technically illegal, even if I'm only doing it to capture family tapes? The stupid machine puts HDCP on everything, it's not designed to detect copyrighted media and only apply HDCP to that.

Stripping HDCP is not illegal, as you're not circumventing copyright. Now the hard part is that HDCP strippers do absolutely exist, but they're hard to find and often expensive. Sometimes you can find HDMI splitters and similar that strip the HDCP through the power of Chinesium, so those are cheap. Really, it's best to just look into HDCP strippers and see if you can find something cheap and does the job for you. Legally, stripping HDCP is a bit of a clusterfuck of an area. HDCP isn't a law, just a standard, but there's the obvious part of circumventing copyright protection and DMCA and all sorts of fun like that. Companies that make HDCP strippers in the west often have a not very fun time.
I want a temperature scale that just display how much it would hurt. Like what a bother to fucking shit kill me now.
Just buy a long copper heatpipe on eBay, thermal epoxy it to the topside of the heatsink baseplate and bend it onto your desk so it lays flat in front of your hands Yuo see ivan, when cool computer like me, yuo shall never do the overheat because burning of wrists first.
Is bypassing the HDCP technically illegal, even if I'm only doing it to capture family tapes?
No. If anything, it's against some Terms of Use somewhere but no one is going to come knocking on your door, leaving broken hard drives around, or sending you hard drives for storage purposes.
