I can't even get any results on Google for the XL2280HD. I refuse to believe it exists.
I had this problem too. Cant really remember how i fixed it. Just fuck about with the resolution and it will be fixed.
I always remember HDMI looking like shit on my Dad's PC, he got fed up and just used VGA
Too bad I just fixed it and it works perfectly at 1080p. It had something to do with literally changing the fucking name in the HDMI tools menu. I wasn't wasting your time after all, asshole. :(
It isnt a FULL HD 1080p monitor! So now you are just shrinking your image to fit a smaller screen which probably looks and runs like crap. Its a 1680*1050 monitor you got.
(HDMI == DVI) > VGA My monitor can have both a DVI and a VGA plugged into it. Even when I have both plugged into my computer (in the same card too, somehow) and have it set to duplicate, I have to complain that the VGA looks blurrier than the DVI. Try it - you WILL notice the difference. Fortunately for me it wasn't "OMG I'M LOOKING AT IT THROUGH FUCKING FROSTED GLASS WTF", so I could stick foobar2000 or whatever on VGA while I'm doing something else on the DVI
This happened to me before. If you use VGA I recommend that you turn down your refresh rate.
AUTO-Button on monitor perhaps?

They're identical on my dell monitor (and it's a really good monitor), but VGA looks like shit on my LG (which is crappy and has a lower resolution too).

On my Dell S2209W VGA and DVI are identacle.
Side question : Will using HDMI instead of VGA make any difference? It seemed to just look like shit when I last tried it.
Side question : Will using HDMI instead of VGA make any difference? It seemed to just look like shit when I last tried it.
VGA is analog and HDMI is digital, HDMI will look much better.
VGA is analog and HDMI is digital, HDMI will look much better.
"much" being relative to how shit the monitor is

The picture is 1080p and it is crystal clear. Move along
