• Network/Downloading Monitoring Traffic Software

I am in search of network or downloading monitoring traffic software. My speeds as been slowing to a crawl. I'm suspecting that there's someone using my network despite that it's secure. I'm logged in to my router (Netgear WNDR3400-100NAS N600 ) and a Netgear Cm500 as my modem. My ISP is Comcast and my speeds are rated to be around 90MBPS /12MBPS. It's been going on and off for a few weeks now has been happening almost everyday. I restart my router and everything's fine for like, 1 minute then speeds slow to a crawl again. Far as I know, Comcast doesn't slow down your traffic or bandwidth. I've poke'd around google and gotten result mostly going for the packet sniff route. I'm not a networking-savy person, so I'm not sure what that entails really. So, any help is greatly appreciated.
Unless the router has some way to do it you won't be able to get that kinda info on your computer afaik. Have you checked your router's client list and made sure you are familiar with all of the devices on it? Also you could try changing your WiFi password to something more secure if that's what you are using (Especially if you do it when it starts messing up, then you'll know if someone/thing is being kicked off the network) Also are you definitely sure something isn't running in the background and using all your upload or something? You can check that through task manager > resource monitor.
Honestly I'd say it's just Comcast. My friends always have problem with their speeds with them. If you suspect someone is on your network then change the password or format the router. Which your router should show a list of all the MAC addresses that are connected
Connect any PC directly to the modem and see if anything changes. Make sure you set network settings (dhcp/static ip address, etc) on the pc to be the same as on the router.
Use an IP scanner to see other systems on your network, change your WiFi password
I think it's just someone lives here. Seems to happen when my brother's GF is here. Whatever it is, it seems slow down entire connection for everyone. But yeah, I'm actually going to change my wifi password and see if that help. I'll also get all the MAC and IP address and make a list.
