What kind of data plans do you guys recommend for WP7? Is 300 Mb/month enough, or do I need the 3 GB plan?

I use around 3GB a month for my phone. Another 5-7GB through tethering to my iPad. I wouldnt be able to get by with 300MB a month.

I would go for the 3GB plan. I browse a bit on my phone, but it's really when you use it as a WiFi hotspot it comes in handy.
I just had a problem with my HTC Radar not connecting, and if it should happen to some of you guys, this worked it out: http://forums.create.msdn.com/forums/p/88904/532894.aspx
Seems like quite a few people have had the problem.

Really tempted to get a WP7 phone, knowing it won't be upgraded to 8, but this is probably a good deal and choice, because I need a phone with native facebook contacting instead of using messenger which seems to fuck up on me so often.
I just don't know if I should, WP7.8 shouldn't be bad right?

Only thing bad is that I'm gonna be locked on for 24 months, but I mean all I want to do is use facebook, text, call and take photos not play 3D games or anything else, just need a phone with the essentials.

That picture and website really bugs me just because of the 'minimum total cost' phrase. It just sounds messed up to me.
That's pretty much how phones on contract work.
It's probably the best deal I can find, Lumia 800 is the same but I want something with a front camera, skype would be pretty handy and the reviews on the battery for 900 says that it goes down to 20% after a full day usage which would be really good.
Also it does have 4G doesn't it? Because Optus is getting a 4g network soon
I thought Optus already had a 4G network and the Lumia 900 was their first 4G phone.

Wait they have? I only remember Telstra having the 4G network since late last year and that vodafone and Optus weren't going to get it till much later?
[editline]11th July 2012[/editline]
Just checked with a mate, 4G is exclusive to telstra only for now
Alright I'm changing my mind, after some research the 800 and 900 don't have much different, also the battery is better in the 800 so I'll go with the cheaper option
i'm some salt that i can't afford a smartphone without blowing all of my god damn money on it
Good news for Windows phone: http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_broke_smartphone_sales_record_in_q2_extends_gap_to_apple-news-4532.php

Oh well hello CuSO4.
My Lumia 800 just installed two updates in a row and is in the process of doing a third.
I'm not sure what's happening.
it's downloading skynet
Just purchased a Lumia 800 off optus for 24 months, I get free texting and the phone should last for 2 years, nonetheless I'm happy.
Well I am glad you are all having a wonderful time with your Windows Phones.
Mine bricked literally about 20 minutes ago. I've reset the phone 4 times, with and without the SIM card. Plugged it in to my PC. Nothing.
I loved my Windows Phone and I will probably buy another one (any suggestions?) What bugs me the most is that I lost all of the pictures of my girlfriend and I from when we first met. :(
Best of luck to you all and your phones as well.

Just got the phone only problem there is no micro sim so I'm driving down to my dealer to get it cut/replaced
However upon first inspection it really is quite cool, I may give a review of my own soon but right now I got tweaking to do
So I got the SIM cut to fit into the phone, was using some 3g while I had a bit of battery, I noticed a huge speed notice when it came to sending messages to facebook contacts, it was a really fast send and receive process
I had to update the phone 2 times for some reason, zune looks cool but I can tell I'm going to have difficulties with it.

Out of curiosity, why didn't you wait for WP8?
Out of curiosity, why didn't you wait for WP8?
My plan ended and I wanted to get something to replace my samsung galaxy gio android phone. I don't really care about wp8 this is perfect for what I do, I don't play games and I use facebook and twitter. This is all I need
Bump:
I had to take my lumia 800 phone back to Optus because of calibration/screen issues. TFC keys weren't working on portrait and application buttons wouldn't respond and would pick up something else untouched.
I'm getting a new phone back soon, bit inconvient but meh it was fucking annoying
Has there been any confirmed WP8s for launch? or even a time estimate? My first gen Optimus 7 is starting to become a smidge unreliable I think, I've had it a year and a month, battery chraging and drain is a bit hit and miss
