A5 in the iPod Touch? Seems like a weird decision.
[...] huh also thoSE FUCKING ICONS
Comparing iPods and smartphones, are we?
Everyone is. Kinda dumb really.
also thoSE FUCKING ICONS
Looks very much like the PS vita
Bundled headphones that don't suck? Let's see if they can pull it off [editline]12th September 2012[/editline]
We’re going to ship these as a standalone accessory
Oh... Well, that was disappointing. [editline]12th September 2012[/editline]
They’ll be included with the new touch, nano, and iPhone 5
OH.. Or not
Comparing iPods and smartphones, are we?
When we're talking exterior design, I think the application (when we're at least talking some of the same functionality) quite irrelevant. There are some similarities, but I don't really think it's more than Apple taking some cues. Anyhow it just goes to show how much Apple fucked their design up, compared to the Lumia.
oooooh I like that Siri now gives sports scores when asked about it.
"Apple takes Google to court over Google Now; Claims Google Now copied audible sports scores functionality from Siri." Never heard of Google Now.
Never heard of Google Now.
It's P. Much Google's rip-off of Siri. It works pretty well, it can read off directions, weather, definitions, show times, sports scores, etc.
It's P. Much Google's rip-off of Siri. When I start searching is just give me a few information about NOW. I never really used the Voice search. But that's just a personal view of it.
It's actually the first voice recognition software I've used that works.

oh god now morons that record video in portrait mode or gong to make even NARROWER youtube videos
I was hoping for NFC so that a payment standard would be chosen quickly and we could start evolving away from the wallet, but oh well. The nano's ui looks so horrible, the body looks great, but I have no idea why Apple decided that circles were better than rounded squares. Reminds me of those really old and shitty smart phones with the bright circular buttons. I'm interested to see how the lawsuit goes against Apple, since HTC is lining up a pretty fierce one.
I was hoping for NFC so that a payment standard would be chosen quickly and we could start evolving away from the wallet, but oh well.
NFC will never be a standard because Apple doesn't will it so.

The best IPS is better than the best OLED screen as far as phones go. Oh and Siri sounds about as human on our iPhones as Google Now does on our Galaxy Nexus so I don't know where you're getting that from. Same thing with the supposed pronunciation issues, have you ever even used it? There are times where a word Siri says is spoken too quickly or too slowly and it makes it sound wrong, but it's not near as bad as you claim it is. oops. should have refreshed to check for merge
Incoming lawsuit. oops, didn't read the last page. VOTE ME LATE
If Google get their fingers out and launch Wallet on all NFC devices in as many countries as possible it will be. They have barely pushed Wallet in the year or so its been available, spend less time dicking around with pontificating carriers and one or two awkward banks.
It's only because carriers are trying to agree on a standard that lets them take a fee from every transaction and google won't let them. It's all about agreeing on a standard. [editline]12th September 2012[/editline]
Incoming lawsuit.
Look at the older ipod nano. This is just a stretched out version of that, with uglier colors.

Reminds me of those really old and shitty smart phones with the bright circular buttons.
That was a really bizarre decision. You would think they would keep the rounded squares from iOS, since the last gen Nano used them. I can honestly say, it looks like a UI you would see on a mobile from the early-mid 2000's.
Apple: " we worked hard to make a tall screen so the device is bigger yet is just as easy to use with one hand" Samsung: "we moved the keyboard to the right"
That UI is not pretty :(
Google did improve the UI a vast amount in Android 4.0+ But I'm sure Samsung shat on it again with Touchpiss. [editline]13th September 2012[/editline] That's what it looks like now.
They definitely improved it but one thing that stands out is that the calculator still sucks, it doesn't have features that OEM skinned ones had on Eclair like landscape becoming a scientific layout. Other than that it's objectively pretty good. I personally don't like Holo app designs and I find them bland, flat, and uninspired, but that's just my personal opinion. The apps still do everything they need to and are much easier to use than in the past, and the Holo UI with its black and blue is something I like a lot. I do like the gmail app a lot though even though it's basically like all the other Holo apps. Maybe it's because it uses a brighter white instead of that cream/grey color from the calendar. I dunno.
The misaligned CLR button on the calculator pisses me off, its like its just that little bit too large just to annoy me. [editline]13th September 2012[/editline] I actually really like the Skype app, if it used proper Holo buttons and text inputs & ditched the old gingerbread style tabs it would be my favourite app on Android.
Wow thanks a lot for pointing that out. Every time I see it now I'm going to be fixated on the misaligned button. I already hate it enough as it is.
I've been using HandyCalc for ages but that's even uglier. [editline]13th September 2012[/editline] Then again I'm a function over form kind of guy. I would gladly use HandyCalc even if it looked like this simply because it's so goddamned powerful.
That looks like what the girl sat next to me designed for her calculator Visual Basic project
"Google improved the UI" seems to mean "Google made it look more like iOS"
