I swapped my sim over - took about 3-4 hours. All worked fine afterwards!
First impressions?
It's faster. But the iphone 4 was fast anyway - so you don't notice it that much. The only places I've noticed is with safari. Seems a lot more responsive, and when opening a mp4 video it started straight away - where it usually has to buffer for a while. That said - it could all be in my head.
Siri is great. Really impressive. Although it's kind of shitty how they force you to upgrade your phone to use it - when it's obvious that the iphone4 is totally capable.
Haven't experienced any other changes really. The 7x faster graphics isn't apparent to me because I don't really play any hardcore games that would take advantage of that.
Could you make a photo with it?
Curious about the quality
Am I missing something stupidly obvious in the activation process I have had it since 9 this morning but still can not make calls, wi-fi works fine and the phone sees the network?
I have similar questions to you, I'm going to Apple tomorrow to ask them. They'll be able to answer them all. My number still hasn't activated on my iPhone, it might be because it's so busy.

Mines working now, saw a few places recommended turning it off and on no idea if it had any impact.
Said it could take up to 24 hours to activate too.
I can see why so many Facepunchers want Siri now.
I'm using a shitty basic phone and I should have an upgrade for it soon, I'm definitely getting a 4S. I'll just have to wait for a new batch from Apple like I did with the iPad 2. It sucks that Verizon made smartphones even more of a scam by changing the data pricing, but hopefully with 2GB a month I can just browse online instead of downloading things. I'm not sure how that works though, if just browsing takes up a good amount of data then I'll just conclude that 3G is a fucking ripoff/expensive as hell.

Honestly, once you get over the "OMG INTERNETS ON MY PHONE" phase (about a week), You'll probably only burn through about 1gb of data a month max. I browse the net, use IRC and remote desktop for about an hour and a half a day through 3g and go through around 1gb a month, maybe 1.5 if it's been busy. Saying that though, I tend not to bother with youtube on the go unless I'm on wifi or it's absolutely necessary.

OK, that sounds good. Is Pandora Radio that heavy on data usage?

Pretty sure pandora has an option to use lower bitrate songs so it doesn't use as much data. It does make it sound worse though.
I asked Apple for an unlimited data plan but my plan page clearly days I get 1,000 MB of data. it's running down.
Oh well, I guess that is more than enough? I think so anyway. only had the phone two days.

Get a Data limit app so you get warned when you reach a certain point. Turn this stuff on and you will notice yourself if you need a higher data plan yes or no.
I use my iPhone 4 alot and got an unlimited data plan and i use about 500 MB ~ a month, more then enough for me since most of my "heavy" browsing and downloading is only when i am at home or at school, and my iphone connects to the WiFi over there so that already takes out alot of data.

Well, if you're streaming free, yeah, it's data intensive.
However, as we don't get pandora here, and I LOATHE iTunes, the best thing that's worked for me is Spotify. £10 a month, unlimited music. What I do is make playlists and save them for offline use. Means I can download whatever wherever and not have to worry about synching with iTunes.

Alright, so either Spotify or Rhapsody. I'll have to figure out which one is better. I've heard that Rhapsody has non-DRM music though...
Both have KMFDM and Rammstein...this is getting to be a hard choice. Probably just go with Spotify?

Well, if you don't mind paying for it, spotify is great. I'm sure the offline mode pretty much negates the data useage and battery drain of constant streaming.
Spotify it is.
My dad got a 4S 2 days ago. I've never had an iPhone, but it is the one I would buy of all the others. My only dislike about Siri is that it mispronounces my name, my mum's name, and my dad's name!
You can make siri call you whatever you want.. say "call me big cock"
Ow wow, Siri to the older iDevices is coming closer pretty fast
garry make a video of you messing with siri
Garry pass me your iphone4 will ya, I want to facetime people and ting.

i'll send you some cookies I made yesterday.
Apparently I don't have to pay to listen and download music on Spotify both on my desktop and my iPod Touch...I just have to connect it to the internet every 30 days. I downloaded a Ministry album, some Metallica, and the best songs from Daft Punk, as well as my favorites from KMFDM. Sweet.

Nice, thanks. Spotify has an impressive collection. This is going to save me a lot of money, I usually go out and buy a CD but this is awesome.
My iPhone 4S is out for delivery today! Thing is, I'm hoping it comes within the next hour or two, 'cause I gotta go to work.
No tengo un iPhone 4S, senor. Pero yo tengo un Droid X2.
I lieks me Droid X2. It's better den dem iPhones. I actually did have an iPhone, but it was the original and AT&T Sucked (Don't know bout Vodafone) as well as the 2G. I am quite impressed with a dual core 1.2gHz processor and a ton of RAM.

The sound of Garry's voice makes me giggly inside (in a good way)

I've never actually heard Garry's voice.

The only problem with me getting an Android phone is that none of them really pop out for me. I was thinking of the HTC Thunderbolt, but I heard it has horrible battery life. The Droid X2 seems OK but there's nothing much about it that makes me want it. Plus I'd have to buy new apps from the Android market, when I already have a bunch of apps on iTunes. It'd have to be a Verizon phone, so the Galaxy S2 isn't possible for me.

Oh, the Spotify was a 48 hour free trial. Guess I'll wait to sign up.
