Would installing XP on my Vista make me be able to play games better?

I'm sorry, but I rather have a light weight OS and have as many resources free as possible for my RAM and CPU intensive apps (No, not just games either).

Vista and 7 are the same in terms of CPU usage, and as I said unless you're maxing out your RAM the difference in RAM usage is irrelevant to performance. If your programs are so RAM-hungry that the difference between Vista and 7's RAM usage is important, then you need more RAM.

Vista/7 can run on 512. Pretty light weight by today's standards of computer memory. Hell I can get it down to under 1000MB with 90 processes running.

I'd use Seven if the layout wasn't so bloated, everything is more tightly spaced in XP/Vista
