I can confirm a xfx 5770 -i5 - corsair xms3 1600mhz cl9 rig runs bc2
But; my cpu tempratures gets hot, around 54 (or was it 52?) celisious (on high graphics). Isnt that a lot? Speedfan shows a flame icon next to the temprature.
54 under load isnt bad
Okay, just got kinda nervous when I saw the flame icon. Made me feel like it was about to catch fire :P maybe i should reseat the cooler just to be sure.
the computer will shutdown before anything really bad could happen
XFX also gives you a double lifetime warranty, which means you have the warranty and if you sell your card, they also get a lifetime warranty. You have to register your card to get it though.
Reasons why I got the XFX:
1) It was cheaper. (Something that goes against what I've seen in other forums, but that's how it was. ;)
2) It got better review scores.
3) It lasts longer.
Reasons why I shouldn't get it:
1) ...
Don't forget the double lifetime warranty.
Also, I'm pretty sure OCing an XFX doesn't void the warranty either.

Your PC won't shut down. You'll just see artifacts.
You have to shut it down manually.
Speaking from experience here.
Guess it depends. But 56 celsius (just checked) isnt much under load? Or what would you see as "high/hot"? Doesent seem like the turbo boost is working :S Oh well, as long as it plays BC2 on medium im happy (what a masterpiece of a game btw)

70C is when you need to worry.

My 4670 idles at 35C, and goes up to about 55-60C under load.

My crappy old card plays BC2 on medium at a great framerate, I wouldn't worry 'bout that...
Although it does present a lot of bugs.
Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding, but I meant the CPU, a intel i5 750. My fault for not making that clear.
Ah, not a problem my good sir.

Yeah, but at what res?

I'm pretty sure OCing was added to the warranty fairly recently. They had double lifetime back then, but their terms were super strict compared to other companies.
Also, XFX doesn't last any longer than any other brand.
Yeah, but at what res?
∞ x ∞
Or, in all seriousness, a mere 1280 x 1024.

That's how you run BC2 decently on an old card.
It's a pretty demanding game, and the minimum res for gaming nowadays is 1400x900.

1280 x 1024 = 1310720
1440 * 900 = 1296000
1280 x 1024 is a higher res.

You know exactly what I mean though. :v:
I'm getting a new screen though.
EDIT: It's in and working perfectly. :haw:
