This case has fruity-ass lights on the side :V:
Hard to see, but here.

Also, I tidied the cables as best as physically possible. I hid the unused ones on top of the DVD drive. Nothing is really blocking any fans or airflow so this should be good enough.
That case is so ugly man.

It's the silliest thing I've ever seen. But, it serves it's purpose rather well, I'd say. I'm not one to complain, it was free. Why fix what ain't broken?

Thank you all very much for the help! I could never have made it this far without any of you guys. I truly appreciate it.

Only thing left to take care of now is networking. I'm still not sure what to do about wireless. (Wired is just completely out of the question.)

For shits and giggles I went on Alienware and built the same computer with the same specs.
Dell Price: $1,479.00
Also, I'm gonna save up and probably go after this monitor.

I ran out and bought a cheap USB wireless connector.

Welp, everything works great. (Expect for the front panel audio jack which is not compatible with my motherboard. I will eventually get speakers with headphone jacks on them.)
I moved it to my room and everything appears to be working. I'm done.
Have you started playing games on it yet?
A bit. Some Magicka, no really intense things other than the Crysis demo.
But I can't for the life of me figure this out.

Broken temperature sensor?

According to Google, yeah. Seems normal.
In other news, TF2 maxed out is amazing.

I just got a 27" monitor and you only realize how tiny 1280x1024 is after using one.

Apparently not but then I got this config here and it runs perfectly.

Easily.
I'm not a spoiled brat, so I'm used to it.
Saving up for a real quality monitor, though. I linked the one I'm eyeing earlier up in this thread.
[editline]10th July 2011[/editline]
Oh, and I just ran that config + 23 bots and I never had frames drop below 60. Temperatures were perfectly fine.
Source isn't the best thing to bench on performance, either. Try out eyecandy games like Metro 2033 and Crysis

That 27'' monitor better be 2560x1440 otherwise you ripped yourself off :p

I'm not using it really as a benchmark, it's just me blowing my own mind. I'm the type of guy that used to run super FPS configs in games and get lucky to be pushing 30.
The Crysis demo ran perfectly fine on the highest settings I could get it to. Don't own either of those games. Gonna install JC2 and try that, though.

Unfortunately it definitely won't be that good when I get my good monitor.
It was a pain in the ass, but I got Mint 11 installed.
My computer blew the fuse it was on. I responded by changing the plug the computer was on and unplugging my TV and other electronics that weren't being used. If it happens again, should I speak to an electrician?

How old is the wiring in the house?
How old is the wiring in the house?
Oh I have no clue. This is an old Philly row home house so it's probably about 60 years old.

Then you'd probably want to get a electrician come check the wiring out.
Do note that even having them come over to look at it can be quite pricey.
Don't fry your new baby.
Someone PM'd me to warn me about my "pirated" version of Windows. I assure you guys that I have a legit key and that one picture was taken when my computer was not yet connected to the internet.

That picture doesn't prove anything, you can get the exact same screen with a windows 7 crack.
Anyways, you don't get banned on FP for piracy as long as you don't brag about it etc.

But I didn't pirate it I swear.
:c
Lies...
So, my computer is staying cool even in a major heatwave. (CPU at ~50 Celcius and GPU at ~65 when it's ~40 celcius in the room the computer is in) So I'm going to start looking into overclocking. Now, I'm on stock cooling and I don't intend to change right away so where should I start with this?
[editline]23rd July 2011[/editline]
Also I just did some tests and when under load, my CPU is at ~65 degrees and my GPU is at about ~75.
Good for you man.
I hate Intel.
Even though I have a Pentium 4 in my computer.
Maybe that's why I hate them.
Regardless, when I build my computer I'm going AMD for the fact that it's cheaper- and you never really use the power of Intel.

you're a retarded brandwhore
Thanks buddy.
But some of us don't have seven hundred dollars to spend on the CPU alone.

I didn't have a lot of money to spend and I got that CPU for a reasonable price.

So you're recommending everybody buy outdated AM3 processors because you don't think other people can use their power? Worst reason in the history of anything.
[editline]23rd July 2011[/editline]
And $700, lol, 2500K is only $225
