Yes, I have load of money, I can probably change title over 100 times. But if you think 10 dollars is alot, you are pretty poor.
I actually think this would make a nice title for fatfatfatty
I actually think this would make a nice title for fatfatfatty
well fuck now you say [editline]21st January 2011[/editline] Hey guys?
Better than the other one you guys gave me, might actually keep it. But the title is not entireley correct because I did succeed on installing ubuntu later on when I had calmed down.
now we are on the right track
Garry gets 60 bucks just because you failed to install Ubuntu
50 actually
50 actually
Someone should now buy you a title saying "I spent 20 dollars buying a title for Fatfatfatty"
Does anyone have the link to that Chrome Extension that moves the subforums back to the top? New computer and it didn't carry over with sync.
Does anyone have the link to that Chrome Extension that moves the subforums back to the top? New computer and it didn't carry over with sync.
PM me, I'll send you the userscript code for Greasemonkey
We regularly have CS 1.6, warcraft 3, and starcraft LAN games in our tech room, we have the best teacher.
I very nearly got detention for opening command prompt on my school laptop. :smith:
Just got to a fully working Arch environment (with Gnome) in under 5 hours. I feel the need to use "if fatfatfatty can't do it, so can I" here.
I very nearly got detention for opening command prompt on my school laptop. :smith:
I once got scolded for trying to use Run... - it was blocked, but the teacher still told me off.
I once got scolded for trying to use Run... - it was blocked, but the teacher still told me off.
Long ago, I was scolded for turning on the computer myself rather than having a teacher come by you and push the button for you.

Oh man, more school related content from the 90's (this is in primary school). School received some new computers - Either running 95 or 98, I'm not sure. What I do remember however is in our first lesson, we got to use Word (or whatever equivalent there was at the time), however to make an UPPERCASE character, we were told to use CAPS LOCK. Somehow, the teachers were baffled as to why it wouldn't turn off, and more so none of them figured out that pressing it again turns it off. As a result, 20 mins into the lesson we were taken back to our classrooms. Baw.
Christ, it sounds like y'all went to school in some sort of prison. Our teachers don't give a flying fuck about what you do with the computers, just so long as they're not smoking or blinking red. Yesterday I was given administrative permissions just so I could patch uxtheme.dll
I managed to wipe my hdd twice trying to install arch. I'm pretty sure that counts as a fuckup.
I took the pussy route and used GParted. Although even I fucked up with that, realizing Arch wouldn't install to a logical partition.
I very nearly got detention for opening command prompt on my school laptop. :smith:
My teacher is proud of me doings stuffs in Command Prompt, she was like "You might be a programmer in the future".

In highschool, they gave me the domain administrator's password because the IDEs I used to code in needed it. Well, it actually just needed local administrator rights, but I didn't tell them that. :haw:
My teacher is proud of me doings stuffs in Command Prompt, she was like "You might be a programmer in the future".
I get "Command Prompt has been disabled by your administrator". And I think my school finally figured out I was using port 22, so they blocked it because of "hacking". I mostly used it for FileZilla transfers to/from home.

My old high school had a terrible system. When they banned you, or if a site was blocked on the school network, simply using firefox was a suitable workaround.
My old high school had a terrible system. When they banned you, or if a site was blocked on the school network, simply using firefox was a suitable workaround.
Mine was as simple as typing in the websites IP in the URL bar.
You monitor smashers ain't got shit on this guy.
I don't understand how someone could treat hardware like that, wait the fucking hell he put his HEAD though his wall?!
My school used OpenDNS, switching to a different DNS provider or using the IP worked just as fine. On an unrelated note, I had a personal OpenDNS set up for my home network because my ISPs DNS servers were down for a week or so. Somehow my OpenDNS account took over the contact details for the school. My mail at that time got at least 200 mails where people complained about pages being blocked, and about 200 more where I think people complained about pages being blocked.
not exactly comuter illiteracy but two of my friends pronounce Nvidia as "EN-VEE-AYDA" It's "NNN-VIDIA" damnit! worst of all everytime i try to correct them (or mention Nvidia, or any graphics cards for that matter) they call me an ATI fanboy :argh:

I don't see how you can mispronounce nvidia, seeing as about 1/3 of my games have that lady saying it at the start.
i remember when i was in the 3rd grade around 2000-2001 a fellow student accidentally dropped a cd jewel case in the mac lab (filled with those blue boat anchors) and a little corner was chipped off, it still closed fine and the cd was safe. BUUUUT, the teacher scolded him saying that now air can get inside the case and it can ruin the cd :colbert:
Love the boat anchor reference.
I have fond memories of those things in first grade. I knew how to use Kid Pix like a pro.
