There's always wireless hotspots in just about every coffee shop, many bookstores, loads of areas. And I believe that if people are spending lots of money on this thing they probably already have a wireless setup.

It isn't designed to be plonked down and used with an ethernet cable. You can alwasy get the USB adapter iirc

My Dell inspiron is at my desk 99% of the year, and I keep its battery unplugged to stop it wearing out. I didnt do this with my Acer Aspire which has a battery life of 3 minutes after 4 years use.

I'm lucky to get 30 minutes of battery life after 4 years time. Fortunately, one of the few times I use my laptop outside of my house for extended periods of time is in the car on road trips. And we have a power inverter so it don't have to worry about the battery life.

I thought it was having a derp because /dev/sda2 (root partition, /dev/sda1 is swap) translated to "recovery partition" in it's stuff and gave it only what battery it thought it needed.
