42.zip would probably be better, unfortunately Macs use EFI / GUID so doing something like dd if=/dev/random of=/dev/sda would do nuzzink except maybe confuse it a little.
I don't think that 42.zip is in any way going to harm that computer at all. Most AVs recognize things like this. Since his dad most likely runs 5. Nothing will be done. If he recursively uncompresses all the zips inside it doesn't do anything, again. I mean, woo the HDD will be filled and what not, but at the rate his dad reformats the things it doesn't hurt much. As for EFI and GUID preventing dding the whole disk. How does that even work? As far as I know, if you are root, you can do whatever you want to the drive. Yes the computer doesn't use the MBR but when the EFI chip tries to read the EFI partition or tries to boot a partition or boot a kernel. Well that kernel got replaced by junk. Even then, the guy formats the thing every other week or so. He'll just get in more trouble.
Just uninstall OSX. Replace with Windows. Dad: WHATTHEFUCKDIDYOUDO! Ok may not be the best idea.
uninstall osx and replace with gentoo
uninstall osx and replace with gentoo
What's so bad about gentoo
Put uncooked popcorn inside it and block all the vents on it.
What's so bad about gentoo
nothing, gentoo is great. it's just not exactly tech illiterate friendly
Arch with no GUI?
Pfft, Install a BSD of some kind that will truely confuse them.
or just make the mac run a fork bomb on startup if you can brb finding bash's fork bomb also i love perl's fork
fork while fork
[editline]2nd January 2011[/editline] found it
:(){ :|:& };:
I can't imagine Bash would be the default shell on OSX? surely it's Ash or Csh or something?
I can't imagine Bash would be the default shell on OSX? surely it's Ash or Csh or something?
one thing's for sure rm -rf works on them
FreeBSD all the way.
Or change the input voltage on the PSU.
Or change the input voltage on the PSU.
You can't change the PSU settings on a mac
I can't imagine Bash would be the default shell on OSX? surely it's Ash or Csh or something?
#!/bin/bash Or whatever OS X's equivalent of /bin is.
You need something subtle. Like, have a script that on every third boot remaps the keyboard to dvorak.
You need something subtle. Like, have a script that on every third boot remaps the keyboard to dvorak.
that's hardly subtle
I was going to go with swapping some keys around, but imaging someone unknowingly deal with dvorak was too funny to pass up.
I asked my mom to run to Best Buy and get an HDMI cable for me, she got me a VGA.
I asked my mum get a cable for my Xbox 360, a VGA cable. So she goes out, a few hours later she comes home with the groceries and dumps a HDMI cable into my lap. I politely told her that it was the wrong cable, and that she should return it, I even showed her a picture of what VGA looks like. She says she is too tired at this point so the next day, she goes out again, and a few hours later, returns with a component cable.
But the Xbox 360 uses either their special HD component one or an HDMI cable.
There is an Xbox 360 VGA cable. I'm using one.
Okay I've got a story for you guys, but as a whole the story is not 100% fitting to "computer illiterateness". It's about this guy who goes by the name "Big Fazeek". You most likely remember him from Playstation's The Tester Season 2. Well, you would if you actually watched it. Anyways, this guy is portrayed as a huge asshole during the show, and I'm about to show you some audio clips from a livestream where he is interviewed and asked his side of the story. Hilarity ensues when it turns out that he really is a douchebag in real life, and he was not just acting and/or shown in a bad light. Relevant to the "computer illiteracy" topic, he says that he owns 10 fucking Alienware M11Xs, and uses one for fucking email. He also ends up getting hacked and shit by clicking on URLs from random people, AND UNZIPS A VIRUS INTO HIS OWN COMPUTER HIMSELF. He also gave out his personal Skype account on Twitter. You just have to listen to some of this shit, it's REALLY long, but everything is pure gold. Or in this case, pyrite because Big Fazeek is just an all around fucking retard.
I went to Best Buy once to buy a HDMI cable, the cheapest one was like $30 so I went on newegg and bought one for like $4
Heh, my local store sells HDMI cables for $5-$25 depending on the length and size. and monster cables for $35. They even sell 50-metre long LAN cables. [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline]
Either way, my TV has a VGA port for some odd reason, it has three HDMI, two Audio/Video/Video2 sections, one HD Audio/Video/Video2, and then it also has ports for Home Theater.
A TV with a VGA input is not unusual. It has been there since around 2002. All of my TV has either a DVI or a VGA port.
They even sell 50-metre long LAN cables.
LAN cables lol
Pfft, Install a BSD of some kind that will truely confuse them.
Install Mac OSX. What, it's just FreeBSD with a shiny GUI. [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline]
Best Buy
sudo apt-get out
Install Mac OSX. What, it's just FreeBSD with a shiny GUI. [editline]2nd January 2011[/editline] sudo apt-get out
If it's the only thing that sells any components you need within that day, then it's good. I was showing family stuff for New Years, realized my HDMI cable was broken, so I asked my mom to get me one at Best Buy.
Mandarith could use this... I'm sure his dad wont mind the overvolt.
[img_thumb]http://mirror.servut.us/kuvat/ethernetkiller.jpg[/img_thumb] Mandarith could use this... I'm sure his dad wont mind the overvolt.
Is that a photoshop or is it a real cable? :ohdear:
Sometimes I am glad to have a family member that used to work for Microsoft so he knows what he is doing.
If you gave me a US power cable I could easily make that
