The idea isn't to have every OS under the sun, it's to have enough to do everything and reap the benefits of each one.
Of course if you can do something with any other OSes, then installing them is fine.
It was a joke.
I use Windows, because I game, and because I like it.
I don't give a shit what operating system you use, it's all opinion.
[sp]But either way, Open Source is the future[/sp]

Computer illiterate people who think they know things V9: Mac vs PC discussion only.
So content, a bunch of people who think they know stuff about computers got into this huge argument over PCs and Macs and now they just argue about all the software on the different platforms. You would think people who were tech literate would realize how frivolous that is.
Fuck, I actually posted content, but it got buried in the huge discussion of PC vs Mac vs Linux.
Fuck it, I'm reposting it for a desperate attempt to get back some, if old, content.
Okay I've got a story for you guys, but as a whole the story is not 100% fitting to "computer illiterateness".
It's about this guy who goes by the name "Big Fazeek". You most likely remember him from Playstation's The Tester Season 2. Well, you would if you actually watched it. Anyways, this guy is portrayed as a huge asshole during the show, and I'm about to show you some audio clips from a livestream where he is interviewed and asked his side of the story. Hilarity ensues when it turns out that he really is a douchebag in real life, and he was not just acting and/or shown in a bad light. Relevant to the "computer illiteracy" topic, he says that he owns 10 fucking Alienware M11Xs, and uses one for fucking email. He also ends up getting hacked and shit by clicking on URLs from random people, AND UNZIPS A VIRUS INTO HIS OWN COMPUTER HIMSELF.
He also gave out his personal Skype account on Twitter.

You just have to listen to some of this shit, it's REALLY long, but everything is pure gold. Or in this case, pyrite because Big Fazeek is just an all around fucking retard.

too long; didn't listen: http://www.lordkat.com/wiki/index.php/Big_Fazeek
Oh yeah, and the host of the interview is LordKaT, here's his website if you want to take a look. http://www.lordkat.com/
If Linux is good for programming, how come we don't have Steam nativley running on Linux?
I'll give you Smoke, but if you use Premiere in the industry you'll be laughed out the edit suite
What's wrong with Premiere? :ohdear:
I use it to edit videos because my school gives out free copies for students who do video work.
Anybody know of any good internal card readers? I'd like to get one for my computer.
Cheapest you can find. Really, there's no big difference between them.

Because people don't get Linux to play games, the market is small.
I don't even have a card reader built-in anymore, all I have is a stupidly small MicroSD reader that plugs in via USB.
Really, it's so small that I keep it in my keychain.

I had one of those once. I took it off from my keychain and lost it the same day :v:
Just to add my two cents to the discussion about mac v windows:
Windows is for people who'll spend up to three plus hours using it and who will get comfortable enough to use its complexities.
Mac is for people who will spend less than three hours continuously using it.

We're over that, and that's completely wrong.
It's all opinion, to be fair.

It's already getting old.
My friend has a widescreen monitor, but his resolution is 1280x1024 (Normal resolution)
I told him to but it on widescreen, he didn't do it, says he likes it so.

Ask him to try it on widescreen. If he dislikes it then that's his (problem) opinion.
Yesterday I went over to my friends house.
We played some minecraft, he showed me some awesome stuff he made, once that was Done I goto log in to show him drunken miners, saying he'd fit perfectly here, But what I see to my horror before starting up minecraft again.
Norton 360 installed, When they got this PC I set it up for them, Removed Norton 2008 (With a 2009 computer for one?) and installed Avast! everything ran well I also gave him a copy of mirrors edge for it because it ran it well.
I asked them about it. "You pay a lot of money for it, So It must be good, right?"
Fuuuck, It can't even hit 25 FPS on Mirrors edge now, It got 40 with Avast! installed and it explains why minecraft ran like shit. Damnit!

Wow, Norton really is shit!
I wonder if Norton Netbook Edition really is more lightweight.

I forgot if i posted it here so i'm posting it again.
At my old school there was this pc with a corrupt boot file, and so wouldn't boot Blaming it on me i tried to fix it (I didn't have enough experience this point) to prove my point that i never messed with it, tried to get a Windows XP disk to write over the file, they never had none.
Thank god i'm out of there but now, in college, i have nothing better then i had in school, in fact there was one IT guy in school that knew about computers, however at college, some of my fellow sudents seem to know more than the lecturers.
It's rather depressing really, i asked the sub head of it why he has an iPad, says it's better than his laptop he had.
Personally i don't care what people use but he is retarded, with a laptop you could be far more productive than an iPad.
Oh god, just sat through a conversation on Facebook were one of my friends upgraded his PSU and got a new GTX 560 despite having a tiny monitor and another guy saying his 9400m gt is superior. This conversation has gone on for 2 days. I need some computer literate friends.

OMG GUlSE DIS IS COMPUTER XPERT.
I have 3 Codegen PSU-s.
One is on my PC, 500w, works well after about 1 and a half years.
Second is on my old PC, 400w, was sending sparks after about 5 years? Or maybe a bit less. Now it is fixed. Works well, PC is okay.
Third was in my old PC, 300w. It blew up or something like this. PC was okay after that.
Is it possible that my PC-s PSU will blow up? I can't understand why there are only Codegen PSU-s everywhere in Estonia, I have those, My friends have those..
order a corsair, usually them blowing up means it's a bad brand
Anybody know of any good internal card readers? I'd like to get one for my computer.
I've got a basic external card reader (that would normally plug in through USB) plugged into an internal "USB" port (really just some weird ass port I don't recognize offhand, can take picture later). It's taking up the space that would normally be used for a floppy drive in this case.
Yeah, my case is old, so what?
