Wow!? Today, I was talking about BF2 and how good it is and that you can easily turn the tide of battle on a console with a squad of teamwork, still he prefers the PC versions of the battlefield series.
Don't you mean Bad Company 2?

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat or something. XBox only I believe, had some form of Singleplayer, a half decent Multiplayer according to people who have played it.
Obviously not as good as BF2.
All of these fall at the knees of the almighty Battlefield 2142.

This is the best Battlefield

Almost made a parody. "I just wanna play some battlefield." Was too lazy/can't sing.
Alright guys, I was at school today, and I have an 'Intro to 2D Arts' Class, which I am nearly required to take. First thing Tuesday after lunch, I walk in. There are 12 30" Imacs in there. I was reasonably annoyed, since I would be here for the rest of the year. I was also expecting to have a ton of content for this thread.
The next day, we are doing an activity to get to know your classmates. In this case, it was an interesting skill. I said building computers, and he immediately smiled. Turns out that he hates the Macs just as much as I do, and is building a $2000 Gaming computer, and asked me what video card he should get. Turns out he is getting 2 5970's along with an i7.
sounds like he's not waiting for sandy bridge :arghfist:
In our IT class there are some people who don't even know what an operating system was. One of them said they didn't have windows, that had microsoft and they thought the max resolution for linux was 800x600, because they didn't even know what resolution was, never mind how to change it.
We have a test next week where we must all install an OS, basic software, some RAM and a graphics card. May god have mercy on there souls.

Hopefully it will be worth the weight
Self content: As a joke while setting up the new computer at school, I overclocked the 2.8ghz Pentium 4 to 3.2ghz as a joke, but when I was trying to install windows it kept constantly bluescreening. I had forgotten I had overclocked it so I completely disassembled the computer before I realized my mistake :ohdear:
My first day in my schools new building. All computers run on a bastardised version of windows 7, no right click on the desktop, or explorer windows. Although we do now have VLC. And the school just bought 20 iMacs, the smug fucking media teacher stood there with the most retarded expression on his face bigging himself up because of the equiptment he had at his disposal... Time do crack out the dell laptop for media!
Oh and there is no USB removable storage scanner software in yet, So I think a minecraft marathon is in order tommorow!
It seemed to browse my droids files with no issues anyway.
I didn't wait for Sandy brigde, am i content? :ohdear:
Not at all, I'm still using an AMD Phenom II x4. I'm happy with it and it is certainly fast enough.
why do people not like when imacs are used in educational design applications? I mean they are used in lots of professional design applications so a little bit of diversity can't hurt? Use of Mac OS X could be useful in your future.
Not that you give a shit, keep hatin'

I bought a Phenom II x2 in November. No you're not content.
(Yes, I did unlock it, it is now a x4.)

I think the hate against Macs in this case is because some people say stuff like "lol Macs are better for art :downs:"

Huh, whaat?
And just what did you do?
Got in a fight with some idiot. He was saying that the Xbox was superior to every other console. I mentioned my PC and he says that Macs are best, then he threw a punch and I just let natural human instincts kick in avoided all thought.
Huh, whaat?
The AMD Phenom II x2 555 is a quad core, with two cores locked. Sometimes you can unlock them, and if they're not faulty, you get a quad core out of it, or if you're only moderately lucky, a tri core.
So I saved about $50-60, bought a dual core, that now runs as a quad.
At my school they were teaching us about computers, and they showed a picture of "camera cords"
Why cant they just call it "USB Cables"

People would then think it's called a camera cord, and that wouldn't be very good.
What pisses me off is that they would waste such a silly amount of money on an un-upgradable sealed box.
Why not just cram OSx into a normal PC, assuming its the applications your after and not the SHINY SHINY case. Atleast then when it starts to chug along, give it a little more RAM or a newer processor.
To be completely honest I think they just bought them so they can say "LAWL WE HAWVE MACKS, WE R BESTEREST" when it comes to ofsted, because everyone knows Macs are superior and soo advanced and powerful :downs:
My schools constantly cutting back on things because of the "funding" excuses and they pull this.

Your credibility just went down to zero.

The single player (what I played) wasn't half bad. Certainly not when compared with the bullcrap in BC2. It was sort of an Arma-esque switch to any member of the squad kind of thing with a cool camera effect. Only problem was the bots weren't exactly stellar. But it was fun enough.

Apple gives LUDICROUS discounts to educators. They have since the beginning. A school can get a lab full of iMacs for about the cost of a lab full of Dell PCs. Better computers for the same cost... I think, in this case, using Macs is the logical thing. Especially since they almost always put Windows on it anyways.
I spend several hours a day in a lab for of iMacs. They work just fine for making websites, learning Linux and compiling C++ code. And, of course, they work as well as any computer for typing shit in Office.
Atleast I can boot windows on ours, Although I will be using my own USB mouse...
The single player in BC2 isn't that bad :saddowns:
The story isn't the best but it's certainly not the worst.

Kind of like the bots on BF2 I assume.
"hey we captured that point, get your asses moving or the enemy will keep trapping you ther- NO DON'T REVIVE ME IN FRONT OF A TANK!"
Also, some content from myself here : I've been trying to install Java on my laptop running Fedora 12 for 2 weeks. I still can't do it :smith:
