And Windows based PCs aren't?
And Windows based PCs aren't?
Nearly every office uses XP which is clunky and slow as fuck nowadays.
As has been said before, mac's OS set is coded specifically for their own hardware which makes it perform better. It's not GREAT, but it's better than an average office PC anyday.
Mac isn't something to bother with unless you're using it for work and not for gaming.
Or developing
Or coding
Or editing
Or need I go on?

Your friend deserves a medal for the quickest scam ever
Also, I'm in my schools library with my netbook right now listening to music, and I noticed how much better sound quality my netbook has in comparison to the desktop I built :v:

See if you can get them to revoke his Associate Developer status or whatever it was called.
That kid I was telling you guys about (he's not really a kid)... Just posted this on his Facebook.
Is it sad that i get better virus protection with Microsoft Security Essentials than I did with Norton 360. I have yet to catch anything yet.
He is an IT major with the major almost completed (according to him). It's sad that he has gone 3 years in college studying computers and related subjects and still doesn't know anything about computers.

Did he not think that the fact that he has yet to catch anything might actually not mean that MSE can catch more virii etc?

It's really quite sad that Norton still sells that PoS.

I think that its worse that he expected that Microsoft Security Essentials wouldn't be as good as Norton 360... When in fact, Norton is horrid and I switched to MSE because of how well it works.
Speaking of Norton my roommate got a virus and I told him i would help him get rid of it. I had asked him what anti-virus he used (I was trying to see if he would say Norton so I could laugh in my head). He then told me he used Norton and I explained to him how he might have gotten that virus...

I hate your computer, not you. :unsmith:
Oh my god, my idiot of a friend is using Norton 2011
Apparently, you now get a map of where everyone gets viruses, IP addresses included :whoptc:
How can i convince him to stop using that utter peice of shit? Hes pretty much refusing to accept its shit
How can i convince him to stop using that utter peice of shit? Hes pretty much refusing to accept its shit
It's a really hard battle you'll have to fight. I have a friend whose uncle builds and maintains computers for a living. In fact he built mine. This friend is not dumb, and I suppose his uncle taught him a thing or two.
But he still uses the fucking Norton and, icing on the cake, Internet Explorer. He refuses to even consider a switch to something ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY EVERYBODY recommends him.
[editline]10th January 2011[/editline]
Also, he has a 1280x960 monitor but keeps it at 1024x768. I cry every time I see it.
Install FireFox secretly, install Firefox Aero skin.
Maybe he will be fooled?
Also, Install MSE to his PC, Mess in the reigistry so MSE will have Norton's logo on the tray.
Done!
Put his resolution to 1280x1024 and make the icons larger. He won't see the difference. Maybe.

The problem is that he'll still think that Norton and IE is good.
He's on XP. I doubt Aero skins and larger icons would work. At least, XP has only 2 sizes for icons as I remember: normal, and smaller.
I also tried to convince him to swap his nice neglected monitor with my old 1024x768 I'm stuck on, but he refused for some reason, something along the lines of "I prefer this one because it's larger"
But what difference does it make if everything is pixelated as fuck? :argh:
It is larger?
Tell him to get glasses!
Or to stop being and idiot and go outside, so he won't need glasses to see on a bigger resolution..
Also, In my family, there is only one person using IE. That is my father.. My sister uses Chrome, Grandparents are using FireFox and Chrome (Depends on which one they find first), I use chrome... My mother uses Chrome, when she is on my PC.
