So talk to the guy in the more advanced courses and get the prereq waived... [editline]11th January 2011[/editline] Seriously, I skipped like 3 programming classes and I admit I'm a terrible programmer, still better than 90% of the students.
Financial aid already paid for everything so I can't. [editline]11th January 2011[/editline] I'm just more amazed that the college has such an old book. They change editions so quickly on everything else. For example, I bought a human anatomy book at the beginning of last year and by the time I went to sell it at the end of last year they had already changed editions.
Who the fuck uses XP anymore?!
Me. It's still awesome.
I'm learning Pascal from a 11-year old book, made by the ELTE University, only 400 printed. The whole book's 140 pages long, but it's a part of a 52 book long series. I got the whole series for $25 from some guy on the hungarian equalient of eBay.

Other PC gamers on Gametrailers ? What is this blasphemy ?

I know it's supposed to be a joke, be seriously how come whenever someone brings up a console someone has to tell them to get a PC or that a PC is better. It is irrelevant in certain situations when just talking about consoles. "I want to buy a new console" "Get a PC" Clearly not what was asked. "What game should I get for my xbox 360" "Get Battlefield for the PC" Just gets old. I don't understand why people are so insecure and have to talk their PC up 24/7.
Me. It's still awesome.
Like I said. I have a computer that's XP as well. I think it's just a bit stupid the have a book on XP when all the computers at the college are running Windows Vista/Windows 7.
verizons DNS was being a cunt (what else is new) my dad said that it was "those damn wikileaks supporters" :crying:

Try talking to someone. Most classes all cost the same, it's usually just cost per credit.

Also, the guy who asked the question later joined in, telling himself to get a PC. So, at the very least, he can take a joke.
The joke is a Mac.. Or atleast one of the jokes in this picture... A WINDWOS BASED PC IS BETTUR DAN A MAC!!!1!!!!oneone!11one! [sp]/sarcasm... Macs are good too.[/sp] Please, Don't start the OS War now, PLEASE! [editline]11th January 2011[/editline] I can't even understand what I meant with that post... Dangit..
I needed a small portable I could carry around to check my e-mails on the go, youtube videos or maybe even small distracting games when waiting for the bus/airplane/my turn somewhere or lay in bed with comfortably, talk to friends on Skype and watch movies in the car. So I got this. http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/acer-acer-aspire-one-10-1-netbook-featuring-intel-atom-n450-processor-aod260-2714-blue-aod260-2714/10159148.aspx Got it from there for $179. (It's more expensive now but whatever). $205 with shipping/taxes total. Am I computer illiterate?
Have you tried? Try talking to someone. Most classes all cost the same, it's usually just cost per credit.
The cost of my classes vary, actually. A 3 credit hour math class usually costs $200 more than a 3 credit hour english class. I was talking to the financial aid department last month because the college changed their billing methods. She said not to drop any classes and the FA would cover everything just fine.
Oh, how I love the fact that the Swedish government pays for all University studies.
Well, really you're paying for it, along with everyone else in your country. I wish the US would quit wasting billions on the military and take a tiny bit of it out for school. I doubt it would even cost that much.
http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2011/01/500x_gtpc_02.jpg http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2011/01/500x_page_2.jpg Shamelessly ctrl-c, ctrl-v'd from Kotaku.
I don't see why the op then posted PC halfway down the first page. I guess he was brainwashed by all the others in the thread.
I don't see why the op then posted PC halfway down the first page. I guess he was brainwashed by all the others in the thread.
Oh no opinions :frog:
Oh, how I love the fact that the Swedish government pays for all University studies.
Lucky. The BS I have to got through is unreal.Mind you, I have to do this at the beginning of each year. First, have to wait until my parents get their taxes back. Then I fill out a FAFSA which is a form that you send to the government to see if you're eligible for financial aid based on your parent's past yearly earnings. This report is then sent to the college. The college then requires a shitton of forms to be filled out plus they need copies of certain forms from the taxes as proof. Also, it turns out my computer class for today is actually a 8 week class and doesn't start til March 7th. The class signup page never said that it was an 8 week class. So I wasted a quarter of a tank driving over and driving back home.
In order to get my degree, I have to take a basic computer class. I also have to take it to start any web programming classes. Last night I was looking through the book to see what we might be doing today. The book is designed to go with Microsoft Office 2007. I know that 2010 is out, but 2007 is still going to be used. Then I saw what operating system was being used with the book: Windows XP. Who the fuck uses XP anymore?! Admittedly, my old desktop is XP, but that's because I don't feel like dishing out money to upgrade. Not to mention, prior to this semester, the campus computers were all upgraded to WIndows 7. I checked the publishing date on the book and about facepalmed. 2006. I least I didn't get charged for the damn book.
businesses still rely heavily on xp
businesses still rely heavily on xp
Like I said. It's a bit absurd to have a book on XP when the college has Vista/Windows 7.
My Dad still doesnt believe you can stop and Start a Download (Pause it) I've tried explaining Torrents to him so many times

A review?
great lap top, not as fast as a mac, but highly durable, as to say I am on my third aspire one, because I have constantly dropped the thing. It is safe and reliable, annd having such a small screen isnt that bad at all once you get used to it. I highly recommend this, especially to children. windows XP is much easier to use than Windows 7, and with the right care this lap top will be at its best.
Interesting

windows XP is much easier to use than Windows 7

Once you go Win7, you never go...wait, that doesn't work. But yeah, I am constantly dragging things to the top of the screen for maximize in Win7, so at school (XP :argh:) I have trouble maximizing things.
I have the same problem! I also try using Windows+Left all the time at school to snap windows but we use XP. Pisses me off.
I just realized I don't have a Windows key. :saddowns:
They blocked all the "Windows + Something" key except "Windows + L" at my school for some reason. I can understand why they blocked run but... why block the desktop shortcut :saddowns:
My friend is trying to game on a netbook. He's hellbent on the belief that he'll be able to play games on it by just upgrading the ram.
