Wasnt there an Xbox game that allowed games for windows users and Xbox live users to play together, I can vaguely remember the Xbox players having their asses well and truly kicked.
Shadowrun was the only one I can think of but apparently there was another. The PC users got their controls gimped as a form of balance and still managed to win most matches.

Halo 2 For a short while...
One of my Facebook friends changed their middle name to "Kakashi", which is the name of a character from Naruto, an incredibly shitty anime.

"Kaka" is what kids call poop in Russia.
"Kaka" is what kids call poop in Russia.
It's also Swedish for "Cookie".
You're the most intelligent person in the whole conversation. Congratulations!
I wouldn't necessarily apply the label 'intelligent' to any of them.

Bam!
Damn you and your vibration!
Does it have shoulder buttons as well?
I only bought a gamepad for Super Meat Boy. Using a keyboard is tough shit during rapture. Plus I don't want to break my space bar.
Heh, even if my PC did cost more, I'm going to save a bomb on peripherals. 1TB Samsung HDD for a PC £39, 20Gig HDD for Xbox £20. Don't even get me started on their propriatery Wi-Fi dongles...
While I agree with the HDD thing, their "proprietary" wireless adapters aren't the only ones you can use. I've been using a D-link adapter since the original xbox. However it's hard to find 'em now...

What

I generally think of PC gaming like owning a Lamborghini. It's way better than the competition, isn't the most popular car to own, and it looks way better than everything else. It just costs way more. However, most people appear to deny this and act like their Ford Focus is a Lamborghini.
Patrick James Fox is a butthurt moron.
"Consoles win, end of story."
What, he couldn't find any logic arguments anymore? What does owning a console have anything to do with social life?
What
You've never played SMB have you? It's fucking hell with a keyboard.

Also, :smug: I own all three consoles AND a PC so I could use the 360 or PS3 one along with my USB Gamepad.

Somehow, a friend got to the last few stages with a keyboard. There's no way I could do that without putting my hand through the desk in rage.

Terrible analogy ahead
PC: Lamborghini, fast as shit, slightly more expensive, considerably easier to crash if you don't know what you're doing.
Console: Peugeot 206, not exactly the fastest thing on the planet, relatively cheap, nearly impossible to break, and the owners act like their dicks are longer than the exhaust stack.
:iiaca:

Savestates. Makes it stupid easy to beat anything.
Also, NES/SNES controllers weren't analog inputs, which is the only real advantage modern controllers have over the keyboard. You can't half-press W to walk forward slowly, like you can on the XBox or PS3.

I'm pretty sure a quick W press will work.
I'm pretty sure a quick W press will work.
Not really - walking slowly is usually a "slowly creep up on someone" thing, while a quick press is usually a "dash that way for a fraction of a second".
I'm actually really liking the idea of a pressure-sensitive gaming keyboard. Assuming games can be modded to work with it, it would be a really good system - the high button-count of a keyboard, combined with the sensitivity of a controller. Maybe toss in some small rumble, too. I just might make a prototype, if I ever get a chance.

Lots of games I have have a button for walking also.
Lots of games I have have a button for walking also.
Naturally. Alt seems to be common for this. Or shift, on games that realize moving as fast as possible is what people prefer.
However, even then, it's only boolean. You can be running, walking, or standing still. You can't be walking briskly, or jogging, or anything else in between. I think that analog input would feel more natural for this.

Yes, and I've gotten past world one using only a keyboard.

I 100%'d every light world and one dark world with a keyboard.
I played through Cotton Alley with a keyboard
I played Crisis with my MIND. From 10 kilometers away.
I played Silver Surfer on the NES. With a bunch of rocks. From all away across the world.
AND BEAT IT.
....
Is that going too far?
